This is by far my favorite substrate to use for my ball python. It holds humidity incredibly well, and it gives him a rougher texture to move across to help remove his shed. This is a good substrate, I use it for my iguana and blue tongued skink. It is not as dusty as some other bark substrates I've used and is relatively easy to clean of food and other messes. There are at times some large pieces I have to remove for fear they might injure one of them, but all in all it's relatively congruent in size. I do love this cypress mulch forest floor. It keeps the humidity even in my tortoise house, and makes spot cleaning easier than thinner substrate. I do use coco fibre underneath the mulch.
