Turns out only one of the bags worked well on my tank and BOOM! That’s when it was time to get my hand dirty and start setting up my bio tank for my beautiful ball python! I bought the 10 pound bag and it was perfect to make a roughly 1.5 inch base layer in my 40 gallon (36x18inch) terrarium. I did not wash the balls, because when I opened the bag it appeared to have nearly no dust. After adding it to my tank, there was still no dust. However, your results may vary. 3 MONTH UPDATE: Still going strong. Looks good and holds the humidity well.

The media could not be loaded. It works really great, the bag was fairly small but filled it where I needed it to be. Quality is great not as much dust or dirt you’d typically find with most clay balls, your really paying for what you get, just smells like clay nothing too crazy lol.

I'm very pleased with the product. I like the various size of the clay balls. Seems like it will be perfect in my bioactive vivarium. Wasn't dusty and the package is resealable in case you are working on smaller projects and don't use it all at once.

bought the 10lbs and it was overkill i have enough to do another 4 tanks probably. very easy to clean i only had to give them a quick rinse how well the work will be determined but this is my first time using leca balls

I have used these in my bioactive tanks for a few months now and have had no issues once the tanks were established! They are a good size and a good weight! Don't be like me though and accidentally let the mesh separating these balls from the dry section of the tank into a water area go, as these balls WILL FLOAT on the water and it can be difficult to get them out. If not rinsed fully, they will also cause your water to get murky! Not docking the quality at all as that was user error lol.

These are bigger than the name brand ones, it’s annoying to rinse out but works pretty well at retaining moisture for humidity. Used one whole bag for a 40 gallon tank for our Leopard gecko.
