Bought this as it was outdoor approved. However the lights are at the back of the unit and any benefit is blocked by the grill cover, therefore not much use. I would assume this to be the case for most grills. Super well packaged though. Even though the the packing box was damaged the hood arrived in great shape. Instruction could be better if they included a electrical rough-in diagram with dimensions, and a small mounting template for hole locations. Would be an awesome outdoor hood, for the price, if they would move the lights to the front for grilling. ... show more

I had an electrical contractor install the unit, only problem is the transition to the ceiling, if it is not already in place, you will have to pay for a contractor to custom fabricate a Stainless Transition piece from the tube to the ceiling, and it comes with a 6" hose, if your ceiling is 8 or 10" you will have to get an adapter. Also comes with cord/plug, if you need to hard wire, contractor will have to splice. ... show more

after almost 2 years of use, happens that when used on extended ( 1 hour) use in high heath from the BBQ, the unit stopped working, and has to be turned off, until the unit has cooled out, for the unit to start working again. it happened twice. please advise if it is a recuring problem.

The media could not be loaded. First let me say that this hood is beautiful. It just doesn't have enough cfm. I am a builder and built a brand new house and installed this in my outdoor kitchen. It looks awesome. I was thrilled with the way it looked out of the box and hung on the wall. When used, it wouldn't pull the smoke out and I contacted customer care. Customer care tried going thru everything they could with me. I made 2-3 calls over about 2 weeks. I couldn't do everything that was asked at one time. I was asked about where it vented, how far the vent pipe was, how far above the grill it was. We went thru pulling the vent cover to make sure the flues were opening, pulled the grates to make sure it wasn't them stopping air.... we did everything. Customer service said it looks like it is mounted too close. According to the installation manual, this hood should be installed between 30-36" above the cooktop. If you can see in the picture, mine is about 34 1/2". That doesn't make any sense anyway, but I measured it and it is within installation instructions. Finally, we came to the conclusion that maybe the motors were not operating correctly. They quickly sent me a new motor. I switched the motor out (boy was that a pain in the rear), but to no avail......it still doesn't move air. Watch the video. Smoke goes into the hood, the hood doesn't pull air out and enough smoke gets in that it has to come down and around the bottom of the hood and into the room. Amazon will only let you post one video, but I have another that shows it not pulling a paper towel up. What a shame. I think because this is a 60" hood, that the motors are not big enough to pull from that wide of an area. If these motors were on a 36", it would probably be fine. With all this being said, I have to commend their customer service. When I installed this, it was missing the grease cups and customer service sent the right out. They were very nice through this entire ordeal and shipped the replacement motor out, for me to try, very quickly. I wish it worked better because it looks great and they have good customer service. Customer service and looks is the only reason this gets 1 star. But, I am stuck with a smoky back porch! ... show more

The hood is relatively quiet, removes all of the smoke and a lot of the heat; cleans easily I could not me more pleased. Very disappointed and very difficult to deal with the seller as they just point fingers at the manufacturer. First off I received a 160.00 shipping bill after buying on amazon with shipping included from fedex. This is not made for outdoor grills and not nearly enough power to work in a covered patio as they advertise. Purchased 2 of them for Grill and Smoker Smoke fills the my covered patio and house and doesn't exhaust as promised. Oh and one has a defective keypad that sometimes works. ... show more
