What a Beauty! My previous bathroom door swung into the bath making it difficult to scooch in past the toilet so the barn door was the answer to my prayers. It brings my 1950s rancher into the new century with style. It's definitely a 2 man job to hang and pray your walls and floor are actually straight and level. Mine were not so we had to be creative with the measurements. I did go with a header board but the studs in the wall were not spaced evenly. All in all it took one man about 5 hours to hang it right. I'm a Happy Girl!!

Excellent product, well packaged, & easy to assemble. Installing the rail and hanging the door takes a little more time, but overall still not too difficult. Stunning transformation from a regular closet door to this glass paneled barn door. I would highly recommend this product if you are in the market for a barn door.

The media could not be loaded. First of all, don’t even think about installing this door without a header. Unless you’re installing it on a concrete wall you will need a header in order to securely connect the rail. I would suggest an oak board that is hard and rigid because the door is very heavy. Next, the directions leave much to be desired. You’re almost better without them. I managed to find a YouTube video that was reasonably helpful, but in terms of establishing the height of your header board, the directions provided little help. Ultimately, I had to cut off about 3/4 of an inch off the bottom to get it to work. The door is of reasonably good quality, and it does operate quite smoothly once you get it up. I’m reasonably skilled, but it still took me the better part of a day to get it installed. However that included buying and painting the header board to match the finish of the door. One other thing, make sure you order a door that is wide enough. My door was 4 inches wider than the door opening and that was just barely enough. I’d recommend six inches so you have plenty of overlap on both sides.

Despite some large gaps using a header board I solved it using some .6” pile weather(soft fuzzy) stripping easy build of the door. I used wood glue where the dowels are to reinforce the door. Might be able to get away without the header board I would recommend go just a little larger for your frame as this is my second barn door due to the gaps the extra Inch helps with the privacy a little or use weather stripping. My door opening is 28” and bought a 30” due to my limited wall space otherwise I could have asked my framer to make the door 27” instead for the 30” barn door and reduce the gap issue. Overall I love the door and it took my framer about 1 hour to install with a second hand.
