This bed frame is perfect. It's well made and has a nice finish and color. It was packaged very well and carefully. All the screws are marked clearly and go along with the instruction steps. The instructions were easy to follow, but could have been a little clearer in some steps.. but overall they were great, and the bed went together quickly. This is the second of these that my family has had. One twin and one full size. My mom first didn't like it, and ended up giving it to my daughter, the full size one, which I then sanded and painted making it more colorful for my daughter's room. Other than removing the velcro which holds the planks down very well, I had no problem sanding and painting it. So if that's something you're interested in, make sure you have a good staple remover and electric stapler. And manual one might do the job but would take more Force than I can push down. After my mom gave my daughter the full one she found it was the mattress she hated and not the bed itself, so I bought her a twin size that she wanted instead. She's extremely happy with it now. It's very easy to put together, takes about 45 minutes but that's only because I take my time. It's very nice because it comes with the washers and even a little allen wrench tool that ratchets I kept that little piece of tools for my own use in other things. While I found it easy to put together the twin set, my cousin had originally put together the full size and when I took it apart, it only confirmed what an idiot he is. There's a little difficulty in making sure that you put it together in the right order because once the sides are on, you're not going to be able to screw the Allen bolts into the feet since the area where the slots go will be in the way. So make sure you put those on first. I found the quality to be exceptional. Since I sanded the first one to get the original stain off I got a good understanding of not only how it was made how what it was made of it's lightweight but entirely made of wood. Which is impressive for the price point. They really are beautiful beds. The 2x2 rubber stoppers so that the bed doesn't slide around on the floor if you have anything but carpet. ... show more

Okay, lets talk about the bad to get that out of the way since I that's normally what I try to find in a review. 1. This is not the strongest bedframe, I know... you're very surprised. It says solid wood, and it is.. but it's basically comprised of 2x1ish boards that have been glued together to make 6" wide board, so while it's not pressed or engineered wood... "solid wood" is a bit of a stretch or at least a clever descriptor. Now you can't really tell looking at it that's the case, but during the assembly I noted a finger joint and thats probably the only way I would have know other than a picture from another review on here somewhere. I would say that it is strong enough. I am not a little guy, and I am fairly confident in a robust wrestling match on this bed won't dismember any toes. 2. The bottom of the main legs are very rough and do not come with a plastic or felt covering, they would 1000% destroy a non carpeted floor. Kinda a give to anyone with hardwood floors. The only reason I really bring it up is because I'm not sure if the center support was actually flush with the floor when the frame was assembled or the felt that I hot glued to the bottom are different thicknesses. 3. So there is essentially no lip on the frame to retain the mattress, there is some 2 sided tape which I'm sure would have worked but if I imagine that when you take the bed on and off for whatever reason it will become useless pretty quick. I'm going to but some grip tape and place it on the slats. I think that would have been a better long term solution. So that's really all the negatives I have about this frame. And in all honesty they are all a little nitpicky and none are a true reason to not buy it save the first, but lets be real here... I bought this frame for around 300 bucks... no one should expect something coming out of a custom woodmakers shop or something you're going to hand down to your children at that price point. The frame was easy to assemble, I did it by myself in 40min and that includes hot gluing felt to the bottom of the frames legs, it came with a convenient little ratcheting tool which I especially appreciated. The hardware is good quality, the wood is good enough, and the frame seems to be pretty solid when everything is tightened down. I can see needing some threaded inserts at some point down the line... But all in all would I recommend this bedframe... If it is still around 300 then yes, I would buy it again with out hesitation. ... show more
