First, this isn’t made of solid wood. Solid wood material is a single plank of wood cut to the length and width of the bed frame. It’s engineered wood which is made of pieces of wood, or layers of plywood glued together. If you look closely, you’ll actually see where some sections of the frames were seamed together and finished with a nice wood veneer. Having said that, I don’t think it should automatically discourage you. I do think it’s a well-built bed frame made with cheaper wood alternative to keep costs low for customers like me. I expect to get some use out of it for two years at least. Structurally, it probably won’t hold up with prolonged use and frequent moves that will eventually put stress on the seams and cause them to break apart. Is it a good buy? It depends on why you’re buying. I live in a 1-bedroom apartment and don’t want to invest in expensive furniture until I can afford to move into my forever home. I know I won’t be moving anymore except to a place I own and I won’t use this bed other than to sleep on at night. Also, this bed checked these must-haves off my list: simple, clean style, easy to build, quality and cost. So all that considered, this is an excellent buy for me! ... show more

for the price, this is a great value. the assemble process is extremely easy for a bed frame, it took me 25 minutes on my own. production was in good condition. it looks good, simple and unassuming. it does not try to do too much. the slats are held in place by Velcro, so if you are a couple on the larger side, there may be better options for longevity. for a single sleeper, it works perfectly ... show more

Sturdier than I expected. It's a good solid bed frame. For the price, it's really pretty nice. With the instructions, it's easy to put together. If I had to complain about something, it's the initial odor. Clearly either made very recently, or packaged up immediately after gluing and staining, so the smell never dissipated. was super easy to assemble by myself. took about 20 minutes. it came in nice packaging and everything was packed up nice and tight. it came with a handy hex ratchet to make assembly easy and spare bolts in case any ever get lost. i thought the velcro to hold the slats down was pretty clever. my old bed's slats were just held down with tension. the frame itself is a nice color and has quite a low profile that give off a minimalist feel. it feels very sturdy as well. will update after i've had sex on it. super happy with this purchase and brand. ... show more

I am delighted with everything about this product. The materials are good quality and well designed. Everything assembles with a ratcheting Allen wrench that was included with the hardware. The Velcro strips that secure the slats to the frame are an inspired innovation! I've had three other platform beds and this is the only one to use Velcro, and it solves the problem of slats moving out of place. The bed was also packaged in a way that minimized clean-up. The styrofoam packaging was enclosed in cellophane-type sleeves so that foam wouldn't break off. The hardware was sealed in plastic bubbles on cardboard, and included several spare bolts and washers. Easy-to-follow instructions were included in the hardware box. Lastly, the bed is attractive and by coincidence the wood matches the trim in the bedroom. ... show more
