I want to start off by saying this is a great bed. It seems really sturdy, it’s well made, inexpensive, nice to look at and it was relatively easy to put together (I was able to build it alone in an hour or two). The problem for us was that you really can only use a standard mattress thickness unless you want it comically high. TLDR: this won’t work for kids if you have a thicker mattress. We bought this for our toddler (yes I know that sounds ridiculous with a queen mattress but it was the extra mattress we had sitting around). We thought we would be good to go because it’s low profile, until we realized that for a thicker mattress, we really need a floor to slat distance of no more than 10”. This is 14”. It’s just way way too high for our purposes. I wouldn’t consider this a good options for kids, if that’s what you were going for. ... show more

Wanted to get a simple modern flat packed bed for a vacation property. Have quite a few zinus smaller beds and they worked well, so got a king size one. Easy installation, and fairly sturdy but I will say that the headboard does flex a little from the frame but it isn't too noticeable. One thing to watch out for is price; it can be all over the map and if you can wait, do so since we found the prices can vary by as much as a few hundred dollars. The frame arrived very creatively packed. As others have suggested, it was easier to unpack to carry up the stairs. Assembly was very easy and overall intuitive but understand that some personal thinking is involved. There are bolts on the frame that need loosened to assemble and to add to what others have said, loosen generously to make assembly easier. Once I had it assembled it was very sturdy. Will it stand the test of time, the rough housing of children or very vigorous adult activities? It looks and feels sturdy. It was very easy to assembly, took me around 40 mins by myself. It comes in a very heavy box, you do need two people to lift. I loved the packaging. I opened the box and everything comes in a zipper inside the headrest (all parts and tools) Instructions could improve…it only shows drawings, no words. I had my bed frame break in the middle of the night. There weren’t any options on Amazon for next day so I went to ikea. After looking at the ikea inventory I decided to wait and get something on Amazon. When I stumbled upon this gem. It took a day longer than I was hoping to get here. Man I’m happy I waited. This was beyond easy set up. Super sturdy. No creaking noise whatsoever. Every easy to disassemble. And when you’re ready to move the whole unit fits in the headboard for easy transit. The media could not be loaded. I was very pleased and surprised at how sturdy this bed is and the quality of the bed. Especially for the price. Here are a few tips. As you can see from the photos, I have three daughters with down syndrome and I am 74 years old. The box was quite heavy, so we took it apart downstairs and carried it upstairs in pieces. The instructions were fairly clear. They give you a little package of extra screws. You get a ratchet and an Allen wrench and three screws. Because I’ve never been able to figure out how to use a ratchet I was forced to use the Allen wrench on all of the tightening. That makes it a little more difficult. Do not be fooled by these three screws because the bed has many more that you have to adjust. Do not tightened all the screws until you’re done. There are screws in the bed itself that you have to unscrew a little bit to slip the bed rails on to the head and footboard. That is why there’s only three screws in the package. It took me a while to do it because I can not squat or get up and down off the floor, so I had to bend over the whole time. It was hard on my back and all the blood rushing to my head so I had to take a lot of breaks. But all in all it was fairly simple and I highly recommend this high-quality very sturdy bed. It’s not real feminine, but it works. My other daughter’s bed is a black railing bed, so it kind of matches. ... show more
