After putting this boxspring together, I don't think I'll ever purchase a pre-assembled one ever again! Assembly was pretty easy, and the box has everything you need, including an allen wrench and a small ratchet. The instructions were specific about what order to do things in, but I just laid the parts out on my floor in their correct position, and snapped them together as I worked my way around. The powdercoating on the pieces feels high quality, and I did not notice a single sharp edge or corner. The pieces are all light but quite sturdy. I wanted a solid surface for a memory foam bed, and this seems to fit the bill. Something that worried me a little was whether the metal pieces would clank against each other when everything was assembled, but I think it'll be nice and quiet. The only place that metal could touch metal, there's a thin foam pad to prevent noise. At first I thought the cover was slightly undersized, but after getting all of the corners on, the material on the edges curves up over the top just a little on each side. It looks very nice once the mattress is in place. The ease of breaking this down to move it is a huge selling point. I don't plan on moving again in my life, but a large boxspring is a PAIN to move up and down stairs. This breaks down into a small enough package that you could easily move it up a spiral staircase. I recently purchased the Zinus 7 Inch Metal Smart Box Spring for my queen size bed and I must say, I am quite impressed with this product. The assembly was quick and easy - I was able to set it up in just a matter of minutes, without any tools. The metal frame is sturdy and strong, and it provides excellent support for my mattress. I also appreciate the fact that this box spring is only 7 inches high, which makes it the perfect height for my bed. It's not too high, nor too low - just the right height for comfortable sleeping. I received the two twin box springs ordered and upon opening, reviewed the pictured instructions and pieces and then proceeded to complete assembly of both in one hour with no helping hand. I recommend you have a rubber mallet and quality adjustable wrench available to use in place of the cheap little one supplied to make the job easier. I assembled this within 20 minutes with the fast assembly version and it was the best investment ever. We need a box spring last minute and this is a great alternative. It is light enough you can move it with one person (if you’re tall enough) but also sturdy enough that you aren’t worried about it breaking. The hardest part of the assembly was figuring out how to put the cover over it (there’s a diagram) but that’s just because a king size bed is almost a square. I got a queen size and i put it up to my other queen frame but this ine is bigger by far. I could of went with a twin from the size of this. Im still using it and have built it up. It's not a bad buy if you want it but if you are trying to put it with other products this maybe not try to size what i am trying to say. ... show more

I had to buy their wood slats to put on top of this box spring because this box spring’s metal rods don’t give enough support for our ultra soft organic latex bed. My back was stiff in the morning because our bed isn’t like most that have metal springs inside and are more durable and hard(not as soft and squishy as our bed that is as soft as a giant whale’s blubber) Other than that, it’s easy to put together and took about 30-45 minutes.
