Short version: My wife and I have had this mattress for over a year now and can say with confidence that it was an excellent purchase- it is still firm and has no sags or dips. I highly recommend it. I have held off on writing a review for this mattress because I felt it was necessary to sleep on it for an extended period of time to give it the most fair and accurate review. My wife and I purchased this mattress over a year ago, in November 2017. After going to all the local stores, from big box to mom and pop, my wife and I found ourselves with a problem: we could tell which mattresses were soft and which were firm, but aside from that we didn't really feel much difference apart from the price tag- almost all of which exceeded a thousand dollars, with some approaching two grand. That's quite an outlay of cash. So, going off reviews on Amazon we took the leap on this Zinus Extra Firm iCoil 12 inch king mattress. We also purchased a steel foundation upon which to set the mattress in our bed frame. The box arrived a little beat up, but my wife and I muscled it into the house and carried it upstairs together. It's a two person job, but not impossible. We set the rolled up mattress on our guest bed and carefully cut away the plastic so the bed would unroll. (Pro tip: Don't stand between the mattress and the wall. You might get pinched) We followed the directions and let the mattress sit undisturbed for 2 or 3 days so it could fully expand. After which time, we moved it into our bedroom. It's now more than one year on and I feel qualified to report on the mattress. It is firm, but not rock hard. This is obviously subjective, so all I can say is that you know a firm mattress when you lay on one, and this is a firm mattress but is still comfortable. I'm a side and stomach sleeper, and my wife is a back sleeper. I'm 5'11", 230lbs, and we'll just say that my wife is plus sized and leave it at that. The mattress supports both of us fine, and a year later has no depressions, dips, sags or problem areas. The last time I did laundry I snapped some photos of the mattress which I have posted above. You'll notice the mattress is still even and flat, even after a year of nightly use. I purchased this mattress myself, with my own money, have no relationship with the manufacturer, and am receiving nothing in return for writing this review. I just know how difficult it is take the leap of purchasing something like this over the internet, so I thought I'd write a review to help people in a similar situation my wife and I found ourselves in last year. This mattress was an excellent purchase, I've recommended it to friends, and if you're in the market for a fairly priced firm mattress, I can recommend it to you as well. Cheers.

Purchased Jul 12, 2023 for my daughter's bedroom. She's an adult at about 5'1" and around 135 lbs. I've never had one complaint. Recently, I hopped on the mattress and it's just as firm and comfy today as it was back in 2023. I'm 5"3" and around 170lbs (probably more). It has ideal thickness, functionality, and comfort. It came rolled up in a box and was too heavy for the both of us to lift just to get inside the house, let alone up a flight of stairs. Luckily, our neighbor saw us struggling and was kind enough to get his son to help him get it in the house and upstairs. It was not an easy lift for them either. Next time, I'll drag the box into the garage, take it out the box and get it upstairs before it has a chance to fully bloom. It should be lighter to carry that way, hopefully.

I replaced my old memory foam mattress with this ZINUS 10 Inch Support Plus Pocket Spring Hybrid Mattress, and I honestly cannot believe the difference. It’s lifechanging. The firmness is perfect. I could absolutely sleep on it as is, but I chose to peel the two inch memory foam topper off my old mattress and use it on top for a plush finish. I truly do not understand why memory foam mattresses are still the default for so many people. They just don’t perform as well, especially if you are around 5’10” and 200 pounds like I am. I would slowly sink deeper and deeper into my old bed, and it never offered the support I needed. This mattress, though, delivers. After just one night of sleep, I woke up feeling amazing. I can also sit upright in bed and work without that slow compression that happens with foam over time. If you prefer a firm bed with real support, this is the one you should get. The price is fantastic, too. Just be sure you are getting this Support Plus model and not the newer box version. That one is a different construction and has medium support. Read reviews specific to the model before purchasing. As a bonus, inner spring mattresses like this one are also much more recyclable compared to all-foam mattresses, which almost always end up in the landfill. Another win.

Okay, I have a bad back. Lower L4,L5 herniated discs. I’m also a belly and side sleeper for anyone that is as well. The only relief I get is sleep and a good firm mattress is paramount for waking up to not feel that pain immediately. I need a firm mattress, not the medium firm when after a month you have a “spot”(Sag) already in the bed. That being said, it’s only been 3 nights and I can say at this point… get the mattress especially if you’re on a budget like I was. We kept the old one, just incase.. I’ve already been through a few, trying to find the right one. I think we got it. It’s supposed to be 12in. It’s not, but I don’t see any downside. It’s firm and has a bit of softness. Not much though. Some reviews say it’s sags really bad when sitting on the edge and that almost made me not buy this one and I’m so glad i decided not to listen to those reviews. It doesn’t give in like you think unless you’re literally on the very end and your bottom isn’t fully on the mattress. So changing socks or whatever you’re doing sitting on the side, you’ll be fine. It hasn’t caused me an issue at all. Overall once I finally fall asleep I wake up, feeling refreshed and pain-free. That is a major win for me. However I did give 4 stars because it would have been nice if this bed came in a 14 inch. So far it’s only fluffed up to 10-10.5 inches. Still worth it for me. Hopefully this helps all you folks with lower back pain.
