I recently purchased the Zinus 10 Inch Green Tea Essential Memory Foam Mattress, and overall I’m very impressed with the comfort and value for the price. The mattress arrived compressed in a box, and setup was surprisingly easy. It expanded close to full size within a day, and any slight odor disappeared pretty quickly. The comfort level exceeded my expectations. The memory foam contours nicely to the body and provides a soft, supportive feel without being overly firm. I’m mainly a side sleeper, and it does a great job relieving pressure around my shoulders and hips. It also absorbs motion very well, so movement on the other side of the bed is barely noticeable. Another thing I like is how lightweight and manageable the mattress is compared to traditional mattresses. The green tea infusion helps keep it feeling fresh, and the breathable foam design seems to help somewhat with airflow. The only downsides are that it can retain a little heat during warmer nights, and the edge support could definitely be stronger. Sitting on the edge causes it to sink more than expected. I also think heavier sleepers may prefer a thicker or firmer model for long-term support. Overall, this mattress offers excellent value for the money and feels much more comfortable than I expected at this price point. For the past three years I've been having to travel out of state to sort, clean, and prepare my Parents' estate for auction. I probably have another year to go. During this time I've been staying at my Brother's house in his office. I've gone through three air mattresses, and two cots; I'm so tired of my sleep system failing and waking up with a sore back. Time to get a real bed. I wasn't looking for anything fancy. just something that would provide adequate comfort and support to get me through the next year or so. I decided to try this ZINUS mattress. I was afraid to go too thin since I was using a frame that touted it didn't require a box-spring. so I ordered the 10 inch version. Turns out this mattress is dense enough I could have gone thinner. The 10 incher sits pretty high, compared to what I'd become accustomed to. Not a bad thing, just took a bit of adapting on my part. As claimed, it arrived in a tall, narrow box. Once freed from its bag, the mattress unfurled and took shape almost immediately. Within minutes it had fluffed out to its full form and was ready for use. The memory foam is pretty firm. I've got a pillow-top mattress at home, so this is a very dramatic departure from that. It's also a very positive departure from needing to sleep on a slowly deflating air mattress or a sagging cot. I've opted to use a foam camping pad to sort of even things out for me, and that's worked out amazingly. Although after a couple weeks of use the mattress softened up enough that I could use it without the camping pad and find it to be rather comfortable. It offers great support, is completely silent, it looks nice, and I feel it's a terrific value for what it is. If you're already acquainted with firmness of memory foam, then you're all set; you should be perfectly happy with this mattress. If you're not, then you may not be as content, or will need some time to adjust to it. Thanks to my camping pad idea, I've been quite pleased with it. I'd say this is the perfect bed for a guest room, or for a situation where you're just starting out on your own, or starting over. For the cost of a couple air mattresses, this will last a whole lot longer, offer way more support, and require a lot less maintenance and cleaning, and is far less likely to fail on you. ... show more

So I was very hesitant to purchase because the previous mattress I purchased from Amazon was a hybrid and honestly it was very cheap. This mattress is not that! Before I wasn't sleeping through the night I was tossing and turning and waking up the next day sore but one night in this mattress I actually slept all night long and was so comfortable the mattress stayed pretty cool and I sleep on my stomach so I need a firm mattress but not rock hard. This mattress is perfectly firm enough for my to sleep comfortably and still soft and plush I even purchased the memory foam pillow as well best sleep I've gotten all year. I down graded from a California kind 14inch pillow too to that cheap queen sized hybrid and regretted it instantly but this mattress saved my sleep and my body I slept so good I woke up and my eye lashes were smacked against my eye lid lol I didn't even care that I had just paid to get them done the sleep was worth it I'd but again for sure I purchased the 12inch btw and I feel like I would be ok with the 14 as well I saw some ppl saying the 14 inch was too firm but I think that's impossible ppl just need to know the type of mattress that best works for how they sleep stomach sleepers need a more firm mattress and this was firm and soft and comfortable you won't regret the purchase i promise best sleep all 2026 ... show more

This is a cheap, firm mattress with no bounce that will be much less cheap and less firm after I spend a fortune on various toppers to layer for temperature control on what we have come to refer to as "Inferno Bed." I keep our house cool and our bedroom outright cold at night in the winter, but with Inferno Bed we have been not merely toasty, but over-warm to the point of hot and sweaty all night long in midwinter in a western mountain state. It's below freezing outside and even with the heat set below 50 degrees we are absolutely roasting on the hottest mattress I've ever experienced. No edge support, but I didn't expect any. You do slowly sink into the mattress a bit when you lie in one spot for a while; I hope that won't turn into rapid-sinking as the mattress ages and that we won't lose all support since the only thing we like about it is the firmness. Did not have any odor, for those who are concerned about smells. I am extremely fragrance-sensitive and didn't pick up any odor/didn't experience headaches when I slept on the new mattress. My dad got one, he sent me the link, I bought two, then sent the link to my sister.... so comfy! Comes in a very compact box, about 70-80lbs. The bed is in a vacuum sealed packaging. It does need about 24 hours to fill out completely, so you want to make sure you buy it ahead of the time you need it. Height and thickness was 100% accurate for my family and the beds we purchased. Quality is great, we like a firmer mattress, but it's not rock hard. We love the memory foam top. Noise level = non existent. I can move around and not impact the person laying next to me, doesn't make any noise or move them. I feel silly I didn't take any pics, but we love it. ... show more

When the reviews say it is firm, please believe them. Overall this mattress is comfortable but I definitely believe it is more than medium firm. I almost returned it but I figured a mattress topper will balance it out nicely.
