I bought my first Zinus mattress in 2016 here on Amazon and still have it till this day. Almost 10 years later. So it’s no surprise that I had to come back for another when it was time to upgrade. My entire home has the Zinus experience and we just love these mattresses. The firmness never ceases to amaze me, and unlike other brands, I’ve never experienced uncomfortable sinking or that awkward bounce, you get just the right balance of spring and support. I can still have my tray of water or wine on one side (when it’s empty) and encounter zero spillage from my movements. Even after years of use, there’s no noise or creaking. Heat level has also been great; it doesn’t trap warmth the way some foam mattresses do, so sleeping stays comfortable year-round. This came quickly - and was very easy to 'assemble' if you will. Followed all instructions, had watched video --- and read a lot of reviews. My daughter suggested this mattress --- I had had an older King mattress - very good quality but could tell it was done as I had some hip pain. I decided, based on her review, and the many here to give it a try. It's been about a month...it's pretty darn comfortable --- but I do find when 2 of us are in bed --- toward the middle it does sink a bit. And, like others said, when you sit on the side of the bed it's kind of mushy - but tolerable. It did not smell like others indicated --- and we slept on it pretty quickly with much success. ... show more

    • Finally - an affordable, firm mattress

As a man of gravity (approaching 300lb) I look for a mattress that’s decidedly on the firm side. I can’t speak for everyone, but this was exactly what I was looking for to provide firm (but still comfortably soft) support. Out of the box, the top layer of foam did look rumpled and lumpy beneath the mattress cover. But by the end of the first night, everything was settled and smooth. (Make sure to let it unroll and rise fully in one place before trying to move it - I think trying to move it while it was expanding was my mistake.) After just one night, I feel more rested than I have in years of sleeping in memory foam and soft “hybrid” mattresses. It doesn’t seem to sleep hot - I’m like a space heater but this passed the sweat test in a 74° room. Dry and comfortable all night. For my weight, this mattress is great in any sleep position: side, stomach and back all feel natural. It has just enough sink so that my behind is flush with my spine if I’m on my back, which no mattress has ever managed to do for me before. If you’re on the lighter side, this might not be the same for you, but again, just speaking for my own size. The quilted top doesn’t have large divots like some mattresses, and the top layer of foam is just thick enough to feel plush without the marshmallow/quicksand feel of the Zinus memory foam mattresses. Great edge support too - sleeping on my side it felt stable right up to the edge. I wouldn’t sit on it to put my shoes on, though… it smashes flat under my weight in a sitting position. UPDATE 3 YEARS LATER...I still absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my mattress still! This mattress is definitely worth it! There is still no divot from sleeping and I still wake up pain free. I can sleep in any position and still sleep soundly. If you are looking for a new mattress it's worth a try. Love this mattress!! I researched the different mattresses. Reviews, prices, longevity, durability and comfort. I have a lower back injury and a neck injury, so finding the right mattress in a bed in the box style was taking a chance that i could be in more pain from a mattress i didnt try out in a showroom. The first night was rough, i think mostly because it wasnt totally set, it had only been a couple of hours. But two weeks later and i sleep for longer than a couple of hours and wake up almost pain free. It was definitely worth the research! I am a side sleeper and with the neck and back issues i got a medium/firm. I dont sink and get stuck into it, i can roll over without waking up and the top is soft enough i dont get sore at the pressure points. If i need to buy another mattress it will be a lot easier and quicker next tine! ... show more
