So, my new mattress just arrived 10 minutes ago. I plan on updating this review from time to time to let shoppers know what it's like in the long term. First, I want to talk about the price and shipping. This twin 10" was only $150 when I bought it and from what I could see while shopping around, this was a very good price. Also, it arrived in 2 days, as expected (go Prime!) I read a lot of reviews that talk about a bad or moldy smell. I'm sitting 2 feet away right now and smell nothing. When I put my face in it, I get a light new car like smell, but it isn't bad. Definitely not moldy. Watching it decompress was pretty cool. It took maybe 60 seconds and it is already at about 9.5-9.75" I'm not sure if I should expect it to get any higher, but I read it can take a few hours to get to a full 10". Even if it didnt get any higher, it wouldn't be a big deal to me, but I'm sure it will if it is supposed to. I will update later if it does. It is maybe a quarter inch higher in some spots than others but it is barely noticeable. I saw some pictures where it looked really bad and the corners were messed up, but that is not the case with mine. It is very soft while also having a firmness to it. I got the 10" because I am a side sleeper and I read that the thicker the mattress, the softer it will be. When I sleep on my side on my old innerspring mattress, the springs dig into my hips and ribs. This is not the case with this new mattress. I also occasionally sleep on my back and that is comfortable, too. I spent many hours over several days picking out the right mattress for myself and I am really glad with this choice. Like I said, I will update this review over time but right now I am really glad I bought this mattress. Edit: Wanted to add, as you can see from my pics, my dog LOVES the new mattress. Edit for 1 year Update: So, I'm writing this on 10/12/2019. I was surprised to see that I had had this mattress for over a year and I wanted to just write a short update on how it is doing. It definitely does not feel like I have had this mattress for over a year. It is still very comfortable and supportive. I have not noticed any dips or anything like that. Whenever I change the sheets, it still looks brand new. I do rotate it a couple times per year so I'm not sure how much that has helped. I also bought a 2nd one of these mattresses for my younger sister and she loves it too. So yeah, overall, I have no regrets on buying this mattress and I think it will probably last me at the very least another year or 2 but could probably last even 5 or 10 more years.

I purchased this mattress on July 23rd and received it on July 26th so I've been sleeping on it for 2 months. I researched mattresses for several months before I purchased this one. During my research I discovered that memory foam mattresses should be purchased according to your weight. If you purchase a memory foam mattress that's too thick for your size it would be like laying on a brick. If you purchase a memory foam mattress that's not thick enough you will sink too far in and your mattress won't last. I'm a female, 5' 6" and 118 lbs. I fall into the "small person" category where the 10" memory foam mattress is recommended so that is the size I purchased, in king( I also purchased the Zinus 9" platform which is excellent). The mattress came rolled up in plastic and in a box. I opened it up and layed it out on my platform. It expanded rapidly and THERE WAS ZERO ODOR which I was amazed and so pleased with because odor was one of my main purchasing points! When I say ZERO ODOR I mean ZERO ODOR! My mattress expanded almost completely in 30 minutes but for a tiny wrinkle in the mattress cover fabric in the center but after 2 hours the fabric was tight and the mattress was PERFECT and a full 10" in height. The mattress cover fabric is A DREAM! Softer than I can describe, love it! It's has a soft floral texture and is ivory in color. At 118 lbs. I do not "sink" into this mattress but I can feel the slightest bit of give and when I move it expands back immediately. It's incredibly comfortable. I can't even describe what sleeping on memory foam feels like but if you're sleeping on an old-fashioned spring mattress you need to toss it and get yourself one of these because it's fabulous. As someone who lives strictly by the Primal lifestyle, this mattress fit all of my requirements; the EVERGREEN seal assuring the natural green tea extract to maintain product freshness, the BioFoam seal assuring natural plants oils have replaced some of the petroleum (NO VOC ODOR!), the ActivCharcoal seal assuring the all natural and CHEMICAL FREE charcoal will safely & efficiently keep odors and moisture at bay and of course the CertiPur-US seal assuring me that my mattress has been certified for durability, performance and content. Believe me when I tell you I am very, very picky about everything I purchase especially items that go in (my food) and/or on (my skincare) my body. If it's not organic I don't eat it or put it on my skin/hair. I did not want to be breathing in the poisons that are in the petroleum that goes into manufacturing memory but I realize that there really is no way to get around sleeping on a memory foam mattress without also sleeping on/with some amount of petroleum unless of course one could afford to spend $20,000. If I had that kind of extra cash to dish out for a 100% organic mattress I would have done so but that isn't the case. So after months of researching I decided on this Zinus mattress which, as far as being organic/healthier, was one of the best I found. Others costing 10x more are made with the same "ingredients." When I first started researching memory foam mattresses (this is my first) I thought I had to spend at least $2000 to get a good one. You DO NOT have to spend that much! Those high-priced, well known name brand mattresses are no better than wonderful, affordable mattresses like Zinus that are sold on the internet. Don't pay for brick & mortar name brands that up their prices so you, the consumer, pays for their advertising and their rent. Purchase on the internet for a fraction of the cost for the same quality (if not better!) Trust me, I did the homework! Had this mattress been anything less than awesome it would have gone back and I would have dished out the $2000. I finally got around to taking some photos today after taking my sheets off to be laundered. My iPad doesn't have a flash so I tried to brighten the pics as much as possible. I hope you can see how perfect this mattress is. I will also be reviewing my "Zinus 9 inch High Profile Smart Box Spring/Mattress Foundation/Strong Steel structure/Easy assembly required, King" which is awesome and works perfectly with this mattress and my king canopy bed. Thank you Zinus for putting out such a wonderful, quality, healthy product at a reasonable price us regular every day folks can afford! I couldn't be more pleased!

I’ve had this bed for almost a month now , when I first got the bed & unpackaged it it already started to inflate , it was lumpy at first as expected , I still slept on it the first night. After probably four days it fully was expanded , this thing is so firm .. like you cannot run to jump on the bed 😂 or just plop down on your belly , but when you’re laying down it forms to your body , when you roll you’ll feel where you were laying but it goes right back up . I didn’t think it would be this firm , but I guess it’s what I needed ! I don’t wake up in pain , I sleep with less pillows than before and overall feel like I do sleep better , especially through the whole night ! My last bed was a bamboo mattress close to $800 and it had a huge indent by the third year , it was the worst considering it was a pillow top it was more plushy than this but couldn’t get comfortable or ever sleep through the night. I read a lot of the reviews where people said it stayed lumpy ? I didn’t have that problem at all , it’s expanded 10 inches as advertised , and even smelled like green tea which was a plus. If you’re looking for something affordable that’s a good nights sleep , get this bed ❤️

I purchased the king size 10 inch mattress. I like it. Like others have said, it is both soft and firm at the same time. Hard to explain. One thing bothers me though, There is a bump in the middle from where it was folded to be boxed up. We've had it about a week now, and the bump is still there, I was hoping that would be gone by now. Also, my husband and I agree, we should've gone for the 12 inch size - he sleeps on his stomach a lot, and I thought the 10" would be okay (I love my daughter's 8" twin xl size, and wanted just a bit more soft for us), but I really wish we had the 12 inch now, we could use the added cushion/softness of the 12 inch. Oh well. Also, at first, I thought we should keep using the cheap egg-crate foam topper we have had on all of our other beds. But after a couple of nights, the mattress seemed completely hard and unresponsive, so I removed that topper and it is much better. It responds to, and contours to my body much better without the topper. **UPDATE AFTER 2+ YEARS: I actually love this mattress more after 2 years. The top is just a bit softer than it was at first, but in the best possible way. I still wake up with no pain. And it turns out my husband's issues were not due to the mattress. He has not complained about waking with pain in quite some time, in fact. I've recently realized that the bump in the middle is not as noticable anymore, and I'm not sure when that happened, but I hadn't even thought of it for some time. So, considering the price the fact that we are still waking feeling good, I'd say we've already got our money's worth, and I'm happy with the purchase.

So I was really nervous about buying a mattress online especially one that cannot be returned and for the price that was listed but I needed a bed fast and I was strapped for cash so I took to amazon. I was literally online for a few hours going through the many selections of memory foam mattresses that amazon provides reading every question/answer and review fully. This one caught my eye the most. When the mattress arrived it was rolled up in a cylinder shape in a plastic type of bag. It was a little heavy but nothing that couldn't be dragged by a 5'4 170 lb girl such as myself. I brought it to the room amd cut the bag open. Right then and there it quickly started to take its shape. I didn't even take the protective plastic off the mattress itself yet. Within about 1.5 minutes the mattress was at its full 10 inches. A few reviews said something about a smell so I ripped open the protective plastic and put my face near the bed and took a huge wiff. The reveiws definitely hyped the smell up because it was a very faint "new car" type of smell. Even so I let it air out a few hours while I ran some errands before dressing her up and actually laying down. When I did get to lay down the bed took to my body. And not like I sunk totally into the bed it was just perfect. When I got up the dent in the spot where I was just laying was totally gone in seconds. If you're looking for plush this isn't the bed for you. It is medium firm (a bit on the firmer side) and although many others say its no good for side sleepers I myself as a side and stomach sleeper am TOTALLY comfortable. There was one other thing I was nervous about..... intimacy. I can assure those who are... ummm how should I put it.... on the more physical side will not be disappointed on this matteress! This was a longshot but most definitely a really great purchase. Its been a 3 weeks and I'm so happy! Will do a 3 and 6 month as well as a year update! Good luck!

If you're like me, you're a careful shopper. You've looked at all there is out there and you're trying to make up your mind about which one to pick. Took me FOREVER! I finally chose a 10-inch thickness, twin. It is AMAZING!!! I wanted something I could easily move myself, comfortable, affordable, and a no-hassle bed. If I were you, I"d stop reading this review right now and click on that BUY NOW button! What are you waiting for?!!! If you want more than just a good night's sleep - like relief from back and hip and shoulder pain, or an easy to assemble (open it and let it 'fluff up' for a day or two... so you need a place big enough it can do its thing) and light weight enough to move to every new home with you (it'll fit - folded in half - in the backseat of most mid-size cars), THIS is the bed you've been waiting for! Great for college students and high-quality enough for guests to use. In fact, if your house guest ever sleeps on one of these bad boys, you won't be able to get them to leave. They'll be asking you where you got it and how they can get one for themselves too! I paired mine with a VAN 16-inch metal frame later. I started out just putting this one on my old box springs and old bed frame. BIG Mistake! It kept sliding off. Do the right thing and just get a frame for it. The Van is a little too tall for this 10 inch mattress but WAY BETTER than my old bed so I'm not going to complain too much. I can now easily fit some plastic crates under my bed to free up more storage space in my closet. WIN-WIN. You can now stop hesitating if you're unsure of what to buy. I'm writing this review so you know I took the guess work out of it for you. It's sturdy (including the frame) and can stand up to most gymnastics. However, I'd skip the twin and go for at least a Queen if you're going to be aiming for a gold medal every night. And as for kids, they'll be too busy sleeping in comfort to stay up late anymore. It also comes with a mattress cover but it's not waterproof or spill proof. You'll need to invest in one that is, if you need that sort of thing. Overall, this is a GREAT investment.

I had to write a review because this mattress turned out much better than I expected. First let me start by saying I worked in the mattress industry for years and most mattress companies over charge for their products. The price for this mattress is really good. I got the 10 inch because the mattress that I was replacing was a little too soft for me and I wanted something firmer. The 10 inch is firm but it's not so hard that it feels like a board and still has a little give. Softness and feel are things that are hard to review b/c everyone has their preference and even though the 10 inch is perfect for me it might be too hard for others. I would say if you're looking for something that's on the firmer side without feeling like your sleeping on something rock hard then the 10 is fine but if you don't like anything hard or firm then you would have to go up to the 12 inch. In any case it's always better to get a mattress that's too firm b/c you can soften it with a mattress pad if need be. If you get a mattress that's too soft there's not much you can do. As far as some people saying that they sleep hot in the mattress or they wake up sweating, I don't have that problem but it's a common issue with memory foam mattresses. The viscoelastic foam that is used for these mattresses tends to retain heat so if you are the type of person that gets easily hot then this would probably just make it worse. Yes you can buy a "gel memory foam" pad or a mattress with gel in it but there's no guarantee that they will help if you get hot easily. I can honestly say I've had the best sleep ever in this mattress. Since my old one was too soft for me I would toss and turn all night because I couldn't get comfortable and I would wake up with back pain. Now I sleep through the night and my back is fine. It's hard buying a mattress online without trying it out first and knowing if it works for you but I'm glad I took a chance with this one.

I'm not one to write positive or negative reviews, but I feel compelled to in this case because there are so many positive reviews it's concerning. I bought my first Zinus in July and it never fully expanded. I had slept on one for a while before and loved it so when amazon offered to send a replacement for the defective one I said sure. Well - that's when everything got infinitely worse. First of all the second one did not fully expand either. It got to about 8.5 or 9 inches. At this point I needed a good night's sleep so I just made the bed and got ready to go to bed. That's when I noticed my sheets were sparkling. Whelp - lucky me. The second mattress had a very small hole in the cover. Maybe it was there when I bought it, maybe I nicked it taking it out of the package, I dunno. Doesn't really matter. Because out of that tiny hole the mattress has somehow managed to eject a TON of glass fibers. This is why I feel compelled to review. Yes the cover says don't remove but I did not remove anything. But as this thing wears - other people will develop holes and end up in the same situation I'm in. I've now had to clean the entire room multiple times and I'm still chasing down sparkly fibers. I understand this glass fiber is a common practice but I would warn anyone to avoid it if at all possible. I'm sure what I'm experiencing is probably an anomaly, but the aggravation and effort put into cleaning my house is not worth the savings or the comfort. That said - this is a very comfortable mattress. I have back problems and for years had severe back spasms throughout the day. I bought this specific mattress because I rented a house on vacation and they had this mattress in the bedroom. I went an entire week without any back issue. It was amazing. That said, my back is now killing me from the countless hours of vacuuming and laundry I've been forced to endure. Great mattress comfort wise, but that's about all you can say for it. Other than that it's a ticking time-bomb.
