I recently slept on a harder mattress than I'm used to at a Marriott, and woke up with no aches or pains. I immediately looked into buying that Marriott mattress for over $1000, until I did a bit more research and took a chance on this bed for a little over $200. With my Dormeo topper on it, I am sleeping SO well. All these years, (I just turned 60) it was a FIRMER bed I needed for my back, not a softer one. Even my hips and shoulders feel better, and turning over is a breeze. No softness to "get stuck" in. Wow, did I save a ton of money! I couldn't be happier. It remains to be seen how it holds up, but I plan to turn it regularly, and for the price....well, can you go wrong?

This is the second hybrid mattress I have purchased from Zinus via Amazon. BOTH times, I have been beyond pleased with my decision. This mattress expanded immediately upon opening to 9.5 inches, and was at its full 10 inches (even a bit higher due to the expansion of the foam top) within 45 minutes. It is firm and supportive with just the slightest bit of comforting resistance. I originally bought a $500 beautyrest for my new place I just moved into, and it is completely unsupportive and even has a large indent down the whole middle third of the mattress. So, I bought this Zinus to replace it and it is infinitely more comfortable and feels three times as expensive as the beautyrest, while actually being less than 1/4 of the cost! Do not hesitate to buy this mattress!

We finally pulled the plug on our waterbed. We'd gotten used to sleeping on it, and it was comfortable, but really heavy. We had purchased a 12" mattress for our summer cabin, but I found it a bit difficult to sit on the edge of the bed, so I opted for the 10" one for home. The delivery came faster than expected which was great. We were also more experienced at unpackaging the mattress, which can explode out of the wrapping if you're not careful. You need to watch where you're standing when the mattress comes loose. We opted to put the new mattress onto an older box spring and frame, although you can also put this mattress onto a platform. We still had the other underpinnings from the waterbed, and our headboard can be attached to that frame, so we went with that set-up. The bed is actually still a little high, but manageable. The dog absolutely loves this mattress. I thought she'd miss the waterbed, but she's been staying in bed until past noon some days. I am sleeping well on it, and it's also easier to sit up and read at night. My husband thinks it might be too firm. We unrolled the mattress in the morning, and I slept on it that night, with no trouble. I'd have preferred to give it another day to inflate, but I don't think it really matters in the end. It will continue to inflate, whether or not there are sheets on it. This is a good value regularly, and Black Friday made it even sweeter. I bought a couple of nice pillows (also inflatable) with the savings.

BUY THIS MATTRESS! You will not be sorry. GREAT SUPPORT for two bigger people of a certain age. This mattress is AMAZING! I am a 56 year old woman. I am 5'5" and I moved the king size mattress box in myself . Every detail is focused on quality. The bed is sealed and clean. It comes with a warranty and a special thank you from Zinus inside. I choose Zinus because we had purchased the Zinus Van 16 inch Metal platform frame with steel supports on Amazon Prime Day, and it was made so well, so we took a chance on the mattress. So I rolled out the mattress in the shrink wrap out on the steel platform frame. Then carefully cut open the plastic, evenly, around the mattress. I was worried because we live in an apartment in San Francisco and had to move the old mattress out. So if this didn't work out, we would have beeen screwed-BUT IT IS REALLY puffed up fast! It sat there for about 14 hours during the day and we ended up sleeping on it the first night, because we did not have anywhere else to sleep. We put the Sleep Innovations Gel Memory support mattress topper onto of it, which we had previous purchased, trying to save the old mattress --and WE GOT THE BEST SLEEP EVER. We choose the 10inch because we needed EXTRA FIRM. We JUST LOVE IT. We are not having problems with lumps or any of the problems that other reviewers noted. I read almost every review on Amazon. We were desperate for a new bed but I did not want to go into a store and be conned into buying another mattress that would be hell to sleep on. My husband is recovering from Cancer surgery and I have arthritis. We both were suffering and getting no sleep from back pain and joint pain. I had my limps fall asleep on the old bed and would wake up at night with sharp pains. Sleep is most in important and does affect the quality of your life. Sleep heals. We saved a bunch of money and didn't have to deal with getting ripped off by a mattress store. Most importantly, THIS IS A GREAT MATTRESS and we are getting amazing sleep without pain. We are so grateful to Amazon for carrying such a great mattress.

Update - After 1 week! It has lost some of the firmness it had in days, still with discomfort on lower back and tightness, really tried to give it a chance, but if you are a stomach sleeper and used to really firm mattress, is not for you, this one will give in to body impressions if in the same spot for a long time (waist) I emailed custserv and they replied to please start a return process with Amazon directly since they were the ones that sold the mattress. Original: I started looking for mattresses since my 6yr old spring Serta Firm was feeling a little soft but I didn't want to spend $800 on a Serta memory foam mattress without knowing if I was going to love/hate it. So researching I got to this Zinus, all the specs seem right and what I wanted for tryout I ordered a Full size, got the box as the pictures from other reviewers, mine looked like a tootsie roll, the UPS guy wasn't that strong and threw the box out of the truck and rolled it to the hand dolly! it did nothing to the mattress it self, so you do need some time of help to move it around. Once opened and removed from the plastic, it does get to 8" fast because of the coils, but foam still compact, there is smell if you leave it on a closed environment and for the first 12 hours, after the 1st day there is nothing much unless you are very sensitive to smell. I left it 48hrs without using it, got to the full size at that time.. Now, If you read all the reviews from here like me, there is always doubt of firmness, looks and likeness because at the end of the day all of us are different, some say is medium-firm and others extra firm.. to me it is a 4 in 1-5. I will not put a 5 to a concrete floor because I couldn't sleep in a concrete floor like the others, not even in carpet because the next day something will be hurting just because the weight pressing down. this is not as firm as my spring mattress and mostly because the foam molds to the body while my old one did not, example yesterday was watching a game, stayed at the same spot for a couple of hours, the mattress shaped about half inch as my body, then moved around, when came back to the old spot, the foam fell like new, that's how I read is supposed to be. Still have not adjusted completely in 3 days and wake up moving around to different spots until my body readjusts to it, I'm a stomach sleeper so we tend to move more. I feel about 1 degree hotter on it than my old mattress, nothing major because I lower my AC to 70 from 72 (Miami) and does not bother me, I like cooler nights better. There are some that are very firm, because of 8" of high density foam only, no padding or extra comfort foam but again, nothing great under $700 I give it 5stars for now, price and firm enough not to dislike it right away I will try to update every 3 months to check on firmness the most important detail to me, If I had to bet, by year 3 is not going to be this firm, so if you are ok with that number go for it, at least all the reviewers are in the same boat as you!

I bought this in size twin a year ago because I was living in a small room. It was indeed extra firm so I bought a topper and I figured because of the low price it wouldn’t last long. I’ve bought IKEA mattresses (around the same budget) and within 3 months there was sagging/ sinking so I expected to get the same quality but nope. Had this bed for a year and NEVER sagged! Firmness stayed intact and looks like a luxury mattress! Win win. Fast forward a year later, I moved into a bigger place and could buy a bigger mattress so I decided to give away this twin one and spurge on a more expensive mattress. What a mistake that was! I tried the purple ($1100), the winkbed firmest option ( $1300) and both mattress I would sink in and be sleeping in the mattress versus on top. The purple I kind of expected it because it isn’t advertised as firm but I was intrigued by trying a new material. My friend has the purple and loves it but he likes medium firmness. So nothing against Purple, their customer service was fantastic! The mattress has a very interesting feeling when sleeping on it. They do have other more expensive options and their customer service is great so I’d definitely recommend them. Now as for Winkbed, stay away! With their advertised “firmer mattress” I was sinking in as soon as getting it, I waited days hoping it just hadn’t decompress and nope, it has gotten worse. So bad that I’m taking painkillers everyday to deal with the body aches of sleeping inside the mattress. The company although they advertise a “say nothing and get a refund” I have been emailing them explaining my situation for days, and they have yet to process a refund. They give me copy-and-paste like responses that have nothing to do with my issues like saying it will get softer in time when I’m not saying it is hard, I’m saying I’m sinking in. So how will it getting softer help me? So my experience with Winkbed customer service have been awful. No empathy, no responsibility (think they sent a defective mattress), and not keeping to their word. Also, I tried to leave a review on their website and you can’t. So makes me wonder who can leave reviews on their site? Anywho, stay away. After two failed “splurge” mattress purchases and one awful customer service experience (Winkbed), I decided to go back to the bed that was truly firm! Sometimes the “you pay what you get for” isn’t true. I got a way better, true to firmness, no sagging price at 1/4 of the cost with this mattress! Save yourself money, if you need a true firm mattress, and get this mattress. Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When I receive this mattress, I didn’t have high hopes for it but boy was I wrong I did end up getting a cheap mattress topper from Walmart for like 40 bucks probably could’ve got it cheaper on here lol but it made it so much more comfortable and I love that little twin bed. It was for a bunkbed for my son, but he didn’t want the bed so I’ve been sleeping on the twin bed mattress and it is super comfortable. I will say, though if you’re going to buy this mattress, it’s great for a bunkbed super supportive. It’s a little high w the mattress topper but it’s definitely stable. If you’re going to put it on a regular bed, I would suggest that it has some supportive sides. or even a box mattress, but definitely worth the money. I am a side sleeper and this bed makes me feel refreshed in the morning, no aches and pains.
