Purchased for 9yr old and 1 yr old after liking it for the 9. Very firm but comfortable. Only downside would be seems one end hasn't completely popped up from being rolled in the box. But once blankets are on you can't see it and it's at the end so does not affect quality of sleep. I have slept with children on both and don't wake in any pain. ... show more

It’s great. No odor upon opening. Very good quality. Bought to go on my daughter’s platform bed. She prefers a firmer mattress but says it is very comfortable. Doesn’t hurt her back. She weighs about 100lbs as a petite adult. Would be good for a child’s bed.

I desperately needed a new mattress but was scared to purchase one sight unseen. I read the reviews on the Zinus and decided to take a chance. I kept reading how firm it was so I was nervous. My last mattress was a pillow top and not firm after 8 years. But when I tell you when I sleep on my Zinus it is perfect. It is firm, but it’s not hard. It conforms to my body and is perfectly comfortable. The best part is, I was having very bad neck pain and seeing a chiropractor, my neck pain has decreased significantly. I saw other reviews noting that this is a softer mattress than some, but I decided to buy it anyway because of the price point and because we've had good luck with buying the same mattress in a thinner version for our kids' bunk beds. When we took it out of the packaging, no odors, which is a win for me. It grew to its normal size quickly and it's very comfortable. 100% better than the mattress we were replacing. It is softer than I'd hoped - we prefer pretty firm mattresses - but it still has enough support to be extremely comfortable. I've been sleeping so much better since we got this mattress! I would recommend - just know that if you like to sleep on a super firm mattress, you might want to go for something firmer. ... show more
