Smells funky but does grow so know it’s good
Makes a ton and great price. Once well washed it’s great. The biggest issue I have is the smell. It have a musty/moldy type smell. I’m guessing that’s due to being compressed while still not totally dry…maybe? It doesn’t bleed green like the dyed stuff and it does grow when under a grow light when I use it to propagate plants. This is a very good thing and what I was hoping for. The down side is the need to wash it several times before using. I’d be afraid of introducing some type of spores that would harm the plants if it wasn’t washed well. Basically I put it in a laundry mesh bag, soaked it in hot tap water, wrung out and repeated a few times until all the dirt and smell was gone. Major pain but worth it. Most was hands off so it was worth it. Overall it’s almost what I was looking for. Not sure if I’ll buy again since it’s not easy to use.
