pretty nice, and annoying at same time - plus catch 22 on privacy

So far (1 day since arrival) 1st impressions. Power cord redicously short and ungrounded. Perhaps ok if power outlet right behind tv. I am replacing a 2007 60 in Viera that has a beautiful display, but suck 10000 watts. This Samsung is connected HDMI only, which really seems to piss it off. It ran through everything it could to get me to connect me to the Internet wireless or cable, talking the whole time (finally found volume off) I have surround sound on computer connected to it. The display has incredibly bright whites. I turned down 50% brightness and put in "movie mode". I like the display and colors, but HDR mode will burn your retinas out in my opinion Watched a few regular shows, including Strange New Worlds, the display was pretty satisfying. When I put computer to sleep, which my plasma would trigger a shut off, this Samsung started freaking out again trying to get me to "connect" to the internet or anything else, soooo needy! At least it allowed me to power off. Today I will look to see how to turn off and/or delete all the personal info and surrounding devices info it is collected from my place. HEY! Catch 22! You will find Privacy settings grayed out on menu unless you connect to internet! That way they can immediately upload all gather info BEFORE you get to opt out. You won't find a better television at this price anywhere

I purchased this TV because it had Alexa built in. That was one of the main selling points for me. However, after setting it up, I can't say enough about just how great this TV is. I had a Vizio that this one replaced, and the difference is phenomenal! The picture is 100% sharper, and the colors are so much more vibrant than the Vizio. I love the solar rechargeable remote. The speakers are very good. Most television speakers are really bad and hard to hear. These speakers are loud enough, and the sound is clear. I will be purchasing a Samsung sound bar, but that is just my personal preference. It is not in any way a necessity. The settings are easy to navigate. Connecting to wi-fi and Alexa was simple and straightforward. I did have a problem with voice control once I got it set up and connected. After a little troubleshooting with Amazon, I figured out the problem wasn't with the TV; it was with Alexa+. I had been using Alexa+ early access, and the technician at Amazon said that they were working on fixing a few bugs. So I ended the Alexa+ subscription, and voice control works flawlessly! I will get Alexa+ again once they have time to sort the bugs out. The bottom line is that this is a fantastic TV. The picture and functionality are awesome! I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone wanting to upgrade their viewing experience. You just won't find a better television at this price anywhere! ... show more

Good seller and product, but FedEx shipping experience cost a star

The TV arrived exactly as ordered and, ultimately, on the originally promised delivery date. No complaints about the product itself or how Walt's handled the order. My only complaint is that Walt's ships via FedEx. Almost immediately after FedEx received the package, the tracking changed my expected Thursday delivery to the following Monday — four days late. That was frustrating enough that I contacted Amazon about canceling the order and was prepared to buy the TV locally instead. Then, without much useful explanation from the tracking information, FedEx ended up delivering it on Thursday after all, right on the original schedule. So Walt's ultimately did their job and the TV arrived on time, but the FedEx tracking/shipping experience created a bunch of unnecessary aggravation and uncertainty. I'd happily give the transaction five stars otherwise, but using FedEx knocks it down to four for me. ... show more
