I recently purchased this, and a couple from wallyworld for an identical price, for a bit of bonding fun. These rods have a nice 40ft casting ability and are great for blue gill, perch and sunfish but the line is very light weight. You might be able to land something a little bigger with a heavier line, however the reel is small so I'm not sure how much you would be able to add. ... show more
