  • Seriously good fume extractor - 3.75 lbs of activated carbon - save your lungs
This is a serious fume extractor. Perfect for soldering or 3D printing in the house. Four filtration stages: * 50 micron washable foam-type filter to cool the air and catch dust and sediment * cotton sediment filter * a large pleated polypropylene H10 HEPA filter * 1700 grams (3.75 lbs) of high iodine coconut shell activated carbon * CE, FCC and RoHS certified I have used a 7 stage RO water filter system for many years and a couple of large air purification systems in the house so I am pretty familiar with the materials used to filter air and water. The materials chosen for this fume extractor (air filter) are definitely in the industrial scope. You can observe quality just by unpacking and lifting this fume extractor from the box - all 37.48 pounds of it. The case is built with heavy metal and completely assembled in the box complete with castors. The cover is held on by 2 very positive feeling clamps and the filter sections are all housed together though individually replaceable. Included are an extra 10 cotton filters and 1 foam pre-filter. After too many years of inhaling solder fumes, I now am very careful not to breathe fumes myself or let them infuse into my residence. I have been doing a bit of bench work on vintage audio gear and after purchasing a smaller fume extractor, decided that one with an exhaust port I could direct outside would be the best way to insure myself and family are breathing clean air when I'm doing things that create fumes and/or dust. Previously, I added an exhaust vent panel into the bottom of a window frame (when needed) and a simple 4" vent fan driven exhaust for an enclosed 3D printer. I've now plumbed this fume extractor to that exhaust vent and can use it both with the 3D printer and/or my soldering/desoldering area. This YC200 is supplied both with input venting and a 59" long 3" diameter exhaust vent hose with adapters. Another very handy addition is the remote control. In my case I control the 3D printer from a computer on the desk and my small workbench (for soldering, etc.) is behind the desk. The fume extractor is placed near an exterior window and the remote makes the control of the fume extractor simple to use from anywhere in the room. The price is fairly expensive, though in line with similar capability fume extractors (and far less than medical care for lung issues...). The replacement filter set is $90 here on Amazon. I cannot find anything I do not like about this fume extractor so 5 stars in my opinion. ... show more

  • Big and powerful.
This is actually the second unit I have from this manufacturer, and the one I currently have is around 125 m3/h, a little less than half of this one. And I would say I definitely noticed a bigger improvement. In particular, I'm using this around a soldering station, and I noticed a big increase in the amount of smoke that gets sucked in. What I mean by that is that, as I work at my station, I can be working two feet away or five feet away, but with this one I've noticed that it's sucking up those fumes when I'm working at the extents of my soldering station. With the other one I had, I felt like it needed to be closer in order for it to pick up. It definitely removes the smell. I'm not noticing anything in its exhaust. I like the style of filters this is as well, because in reality you can get those pre-filters in a large format and cut them up also like that. They do have a washable system in there, so that really helps with reducing the amount of filter changes you have to do. It comes with a remote that works great. I'm a big fan of the hard flex seal that it has for sucking out the fumes. It makes it really easy to get it into position. Also, something that I like about this model versus some of their other ones is that this actually has an output exhaust, so you can feed it out of the building if you want. Overall, I think that this is just a great brand that I haven't had any issues with, and this thing just works. Highly recommend it. ... show more

  • When you're ready to get serious about air quality, this will get it done.
This fume extractor is POWERFUL. At almost 40 lbs, it is a substantial machine It replaced a smaller unit that struggled to handle the smoke/fumes from my laser engraver. What I discovered is that it also works well for soldering, and I'm considering using it for plasma cutting, though I would need to shield the hose from the possibility of contact of super-hot metal. I consider the noise level to be about what you would expect for something that pushes this much air through a filter. I usually just wear headphones around it (it seems like I am more sensitive to noise than most people). This unit is not cheap at around $400, but you get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Powerful and Effective Fume Extractor
This fume extractor works well for laser engraving, 3D printing, and soldering. The 4-layer filtration system captures smoke and odors effectively, and the 220W suction is strong. Easy to set up and keeps the workspace much cleaner.

  • Solid Metal, Premium Motor, Runs Quietly and Reliably
I’ve been using this fume extractor for a few days now and I’m genuinely impressed by the quality. As someone who does regular laser engraving, I needed something that could actually keep up with the smoke and fumes and this machine delivers. The 220 W motor with 360 m3/h airflow is a real deal. It clears fumes instantly no more lingering smoke smell or haze in my workspace. For its power level this thing runs surprisingly quietly. It has smooth rolling wheels underneath for easy repositioning. It is compatible with any laser engravers. At this price it is an absolute steal. ... show more
