Has held up well for a "low end" spincaster. In my experience better than the standard 33's. Feels smooth and solid. Keep dirt out of it, address it with some 3-in-1 oil every once in a while and I'm sure it could last a couple years of HARD use. The line it comes with has been perfectly adequate for what I've been using it for. Pretty nice mono to my judgement. I've caught smaller sized trout (pic related), bass and crappie with it. Haven't hooked into anything larger than a couple pounds so I'm not sure how it'll handle stronger/bigger fish. I think if you played it right you could reel in a 12 pounder. All in all a perfect beginner reel and not a bad option to have in your tackle box as a backup. ... show more

This reel is going on a one piece composite rod 66 inches. The combo is heavier than my other rod/reel and certainly less portable but it should do fine.

Poor quality for Zebco, my buddy and I bought these reels started out for the first couple of times saying how nice they cast and reel. Then about 2 weeks into it my buddys push button broke. Mine is still working but I took his apart to see the quality and was very disappointed. I've been a Zebco reel user for years, but seeing this I might try another brand. Wasnt cheap either for that kind of quality ... reel was like $36. ... show more
