I was in the market for a new sound system for my house. After hours of searching, reading product reviews and contacting companies, I stumbled across the Gemini 5500. I read the reviews, watched videos on the speakers and even called the company to make sure this is what I wanted. I wasn’t sure if I should buy just one or get a pair of them. It showed there were only 9 in stock at the time so I decided to buy a pair of them. They were on sale anyway. Well, I got them today. I was too excited to wait for the brown truck to drop them off so I ran down to the local UPS hub and picked them up. I opened the box, pulled the styrofoam off the top and pulled the first speaker out. I plugged in the power cable, turned it on and hit the Bluetooth button. It connected instantly. All I had to do was turn up the gain on the back of the speaker and I was listening to music. It was that simple. After I got that one going, I pulled the second one out of the box and set that one up too. I hit the link button and easily paired the two together. What’s great is when you turn the volume down on one, they both turn down simultaneously. These things are extremely powerful. I have them in my living room and I can’t even turn it up past 20. I’m not sure what max volume is but I know it’s gotta be way more. Honestly, for the price I paid, I’m very satisfied. They’re bigger than I anticipated which is plenty fine by me. They’re build quality is amazing. They look great and sound great and I’m looking forward to many hours of listening to them.

I ordered this speaker for an event. The product was shipped and received very promptly. I took all the pieces out of the box and put it all together to test everything out as I always do. The first negative thing I noticed as I was installing everything was that the hard plastic grommet/eyelet in the speaker box that the stand mount threaded into popped out. Although I was kinda bummed by this, it was very minor to me and I was thinking I would probably just super glue it back in. It didn't prevent the speaker from being mounted on the stand, it just wouldn't tighten it up to prevent it from spinning. I finished putting everything together and turn it on. The light show leaves much to be desired, but I guess better than nothing. I will most likely just leave it off or solid. Paired up to my Android phone very quick with no issues. I set the gains a little less than was recommended and played some music just to make sure it worked, only one song. I didn't go past 50% of what it is capable of and I must admit, this thing is loud. So loud that my dog freaked out and ran into the other room. I plugged the mic in to test and it worked just fine. Less than 10 minutes on the initial day before I shut everything down. A few days later, the day before the event.. I turned it back on. Paired it to my phone and started playing a playlist at about 20% of what it's capable of, maybe less. It sounded great, I couldn't wait to actually see it in action at the event. After 3-4 hours, the bass started slowly diminishing. To the point where there was none at all. There was no pop or click, it was as if someone slowly turned the bass knob down until it was at zero. I walked up to it and the 15" speaker isn't working at all. The top tweeter is still working fine, all the lights on the front and rear are still lit. Just the main speaker had failed. I turned off the power switch to try to reset it. I felt the metal backing of the amp and it wasn't hot at all. Maybe a few degrees over room temperature. I waited a few minutes and turned it back on to try to connect again. The speaker briefly worked again until the first bass note hit and then it failed again and all I could hear was the tweeter. Update: I let it cool down for a few hours and tried it again. The speaker fired right up like normal. I turned the gains and main volume down lower. It played for about another 45 minutes and then the speaker failed again.
