It's not as good as the original reel I replaced on this rod, however, it was very easy to install. I like these reals because they are easy to use and light weight. My only problem is this; unless you have very little slack it's prone to getting knots. Otherwise it's a great reel

I love reeling lefty as a right handed person. No casting right, then switching hands to reel back in. Some reviews say this reel is not good... but they must have had a lemon. I've casted 1,000 times perfectly. LOVE this reel.

Bought this after first trying a Daiwa version of the underspin, this one is only slightly better. I confess the Zebco 33 name got me, the original was a great value for the money. This one is not smooth operating even after disassembly cleaning and lubrication. Would like to see a separate anti-reverse, retrieve is slow AND lacks power. My conventional ultralight spinning reels will handle larger fish as long as I use good sense, I question if this one will, so far I've only caught panfish and it seems like that is a challenge for this reel. The drag setting seems to go from too tight to too loose without finding the sweet spot. ... show more
