The base coat stays on really well, and color gel goes on really smoothly over it. I’ve used a lot of at-home gel top and base coats and this set surprised me. The base goes on smooth and levels nicely, and the top coat gives a really glossy finish without that sticky layer, which I love. It cured evenly under my LED lamp and didn’t wrinkle or bubble. I’m about a week in and haven’t had any chipping yet, even with normal daily use. It still looks freshly done. Removal was also pretty standard, no harder than other gel systems I’ve used. The brush is a little wider than I’m used to, so you have to be careful near the cuticles at first. Once you get used to it, it’s easy to work with. Overall this is a really solid set for the price. I bought this Beetles base coat and top coat set for doing my nails at home, and overall I’m happy with it. The base coat goes on smoothly and helps the gel polish stay in place better. The top coat gives a really nice shiny finish and makes my nails look more polished, almost like I went to a salon. I like that it is no-wipe because it saves time and makes the process easier. It also cures well under my LED nail lamp, and the bottles are a good size for the price. I used it for my manicure, and my nails looked glossy and clean after applying it. I gave it 4 stars because it works well, but I feel like the lasting power can depend on how well you prep your nails. If I rush or don’t prep properly, it can lift sooner than expected. But when I take my time and apply it correctly, it lasts much better. Overall, this is a good set for at-home gel nails.
