I can't give 5 stars because it's kind of an confusing product. But I don't want to go lower than 4 stars because maybe I'm doing it wrong. But here's the problem, the bottom side is 3/8 thread and the And the top side is 1/4 thread and it doesn't come with the conversion screw. I wish both ends were the same thread! So now I'm going to have to buy the conversion screw separately 🤦♂️ ... show more

Perfect for security camera. I attached this to a flexible gooseneck with clamp that has a standard 1/4" bolt for the camera. The gooseneck is pretty stiff and not easy to bend like I want it to. I installed the Tripod Mini Ball Head to the gooseneck. The other end I attached to the camera. It can swivel and rotate easily and be locked in place. December 2021 Update 3 Months Later: I can't Recommend This Ball Head for Large SLRs. We've been progressively cranking tighter and tighter on the knob to prevent the ball head from slipping. It's to the point now where it's unusable. We can't crank on the knob any tighter, but the ball still slips when we try to adjust the camera and keep it pointed where it is supposed to. Disappointed. It would probably be fine for a small lightweight camera or camera phone. September 2021 I was skeptical that this small ball head could support the weight of my SLR. But like other reviewers have stated, it's rock solid. One knob controls rotation and movement on all axes, which is a really nice feature.
