  • Nice flute
Size: D - 14'' Indian Flute
My son wanted to play a tribal flute, but we didn't have the money for the higher-priced flutes, especially in this key. I ordered this on a whim, hoping that he'd like the sound and would learn to play. The sound is very pleasant, and my son played several tunes on it for about a week. Then he put it away. He hasn't touched it since. Glad that I didn't buy something expensive. If you or your child wants to learn to play a tribal flute, this one would be the flute I would recommend. It sounds lovely and won't break the bank, which means that if you or your child decide to stop playing, you won't be upset. ... show more

  • Treat it with a tung oil/poly blend.
Size: C - 16'' Indian Flute
My star rating is not accurate due to the fact that I did not actually purchase this flute. I'm just here to offer some sound advice on how to prevent your flute or whistle from cracking. Treat any bamboo flute or whistle with a tung or teak oil poly blend on the inside, not just virgin tung oil. Virgin oil remains tacky. A blend will dry nicely and never attract dirt. It will seal the bamboo flute or whistle against moisture which is what makes them split down the middle shortly after blowing through them. Unfortunately, not many bamboo flutes or whistles are actually treated against moisture, so you'll have to do this yourself with just about any flute or whistle made of bamboo unless they actually specify that it has already been done. This can be easily be accomplished by purchasing a cleaning rod and a few gun bore wool mops in the appropriate diameter, One for applying, and one for wicking excess away between coats. I would recommend coating and allowing to dry three times before playing the instrument. I hope this bit of information helps, as dealing with these bamboo instruments can be a bit of a pain with constant cracking problems. Sealing them properly on the inside should alleviate the problem all together. ... show more

  • Broke within the first 30 minutes of playing
Size: D# - 15'' Indian Flute
We gave this to our 19 year old daughter, who has an infinity for flutes, for her birthday. She began to play it. At first it went well but in less then 30 minutes of playing the flute it cracked straight down the middle starting from the mouth piece all the way to the center of it. Poor quality. I'd give a zero if it were an option. ... show more

  • Not worth it
Size: D - 14'' Indian Flute
Crappy quality Sounds like crap Performance is crap, and the holes are kinda hard to use since the spacing is a bit off. Not worth it to be completely honest, even for the cheap price. Save up and buy a quality flute.
