Description

Released in 1981, the Omnichord is an electronic musical instrument with an automatic accompaniment function (auto bass/chord) and equipped with a harp sensor. By pressing a chord button and sliding your finger on the harp sensor (strumplate), an arpeggio corresponding to the chord is heard, allowing anyone to easily accompany a song. Omnichord does not require any previous musical experience with an instrument, or even knowledge of staff notation. All that is needed are the chord names required to play a song which is a method commonly known as ‘tab’. Combined with its portability, Omnichord became extremely popular, especially in Europe and America as a new musical instrument that anyone can enjoy - anywhere. In addition, due to the unique electronic sounds that are reminiscent of the 80's, and the tactile way musical expressions are achieved, Omnichord has developed cult status around the world. It not only appears in recorded music, but also publicity photos, and has featured in the titles of songs and albums. The Omnichord name was discontinued after the OM-300 (released in 1996), but its popularity as a unique musical instrument has endured the test of time, and now, over 40 years later the Omnichord returns with the OM-108.Features:· 10 analog tones: omni1, omni2, harp, celeste, A.piano, guitar, FMpiano, organ, vibes, banjoLayer function that creates expression of sound, with Main Voice and Sub Voice volume knobs · Updated rhythm selection with popular drum beats: rock1, rock2, slow rock, country, swing, disco, hip hop, funk, bossanova, waltz · 108 chord types, including sus4 and add9 · Sensitive strumplate that fully expresses light touch playing · Drum pad on both chord buttons and strumplate · MIDI out · Built-in speaker can also be used as a monitor

  • WOW.... THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!
let me just say i was split on buying this because of the price... when i say this thing is total worth it!! extremely hard to put down once you play it. its perfect for beginners and more advanced and inspiration comes naturally! i hooked it up to my MPC X via midi and it sends the chord information to the MPC so it makes using plugins and recording a blast with endless options on sounds. i pull up my note pad and jot down chord progression ideas and it makes jam sessions super fun. also this instrument is WAY louder than i was thinking, it could probably be played next to someone playing the drums and you'd be able to hear it.. also it looks amazing and people are curious just looking at it ... show more

  • Beautiful Instrument
Has so many sounds, and has no problems whatsoever. Best investment you can make if you’re experimenting with music and love beautiful sounds, and don’t want to buy something complicated; hard to learn. Very easy to use.
