Description

Does this window AC require a bucket inside to collect drainage water? Absolutely not. This window ac unit features a built-in water pump that automatically directs all condensation outdoors. Why is there a drain port on the indoor side? If the drain filter gets clogged and prevents water from being pumped out, this port can be used for temporary manual drainage. Additionally, you can pull out the filter from this position to clean it when it is blocked by dirt.

The unit arrived earlier than expected. The unit went into the window without any problems. It weighs about 80 pounds and one young guy was able to lift it into the window by himself. It produced cool air as soon as we turned it on. We didn't try the heat mode since it was installed in June during a heat wave. It is very quiet even on full fan speed. My wife and I were watching an informative program on plug in mini splits for city apartments and this led to some internet searches which led me to this product (note: this is not advertised as a plug in mini split). We really like the idea of a saddle design that both cooks and heats. So far this has been an amazing product. Living in New England, we may need a/c during the day, but need heat in the morning. This unit delivers. Easy to install, had NO issues with our vinyl siding, and only made minor changes to the foam supports and window blocks. Unit is quiet and the app based controls are very easy to use. So why 4 stars? There is zero information on this unit for heat. Does it use heat strips or is it a reverse inverter? Do you leave it in year round? What is the heat efficiency? I can't find the answers to these questions anywhere. No YouTube videos have the answers or even discuss the heat function. Manual had no information on it other than this one model has heat. How about the Zafro website...? This unit isn't even on there. I am glad I bought it, and this is a way cheaper upfront option over a mini split, but I don't know how much the energy costs will be or what care is needed for winter. ... show more

The system works absolutely GREAT!!! Just be prepared to use the remote as the app is useless. Had it working for a while but now it will not connect. Yes I am on the same (only) WiFi EDIT: Well they kindly fixed the app. It works great and the unit has a condensate pump. I saw a review that was complaining about the drain plug on the side. That is there for an emergency if the filter clogs the unit can be drained and the filter can be cleaned. The unit has a pump as I have seen the water on the condenser side. ... show more

Everything looked great about this product except one, some may consider minor but for me it was a no go so I am returning it. No where in the description does it say that it requires draining the water from inside the house/apartment , on the left side is a drain port that is not mentioned nor is there any possible way to obtain the user/installation manual. So be aware that this will require draining from inside into a container, how often don’t know they do not mention this or show this at all. I made the assumption that there was a pump that pumped it to the outside. I assumed wrong! That is the only reason for the 3 star! ... show more

Look good. Big and heavy. 2 people should lift it. Once thing to note that if you are installing this on a higher level window please make sure you have someone to hold from the outside while the bolts are being tightened up. Big NOTE. Drain is on the inside part of the unit. As the part that sits inside the house. Not outside like other units. You will either have to use a hose for drain or a bucket to constantly empty the water as the unit runs. ... show more
