This dehumidifier is compact, easy to use, and it works very well. While I did put the various modes and settings through there paces, I have landed on simply turning the unit on and off manually with the automatic control set to 50% humidity. That means that when the device brings the humidity down below 50%, it stops running, then it fires back up once the humidity goes back up. My house historically sits around 55-60% humidity in the rainy season, and this dehumidifier managed to get the house down under 50%. I'm very impressed. It takes about 24 hours to fill the water tank, and it takes just a moment to empty it out. I have been moving the dehumidifier from room to room to see how it operates. It rolls easily on its wheels. My final install will be close to a drain, so that I can use the provided drain hose that sends the water straight into the sewers. The water collected has been crystal clear. The controls on this unit are easy to see and operate. The unit is fairly quiet as well, about the same noise level as a small fan or space heater. I let it run at night just outside my bedroom door without any hassle. In the end, I think this is an attractive unit, it's hard-working, offers lots of functionality with all the modes, and, most important, it really works, I'm still a little stumped at how much water it can just pull out of the air.     • Good for Small Spaces
I own a couple of other dehumidifiers, and this one is significantly smaller in footprint, water tank capacity, and airflow volume. So it takes up less space, is lighter, and easier to move around on its rollers. Even at the highest speed (there are two, plus sleep mode), the fan and compressor are quieter than those larger units, so this is especially appropriate for nighttime use in bedrooms. The claim of 1,500 sq ft coverage seems ambitious, though if you set it to continuous mode and feed the drain hose into a sink, it eventually might dehumidify a large open area. But using the tank should work well enough for enclosed smaller spaces like a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, or small living room. The tank is lightweight and easy to carry even when full, since it only holds about 5 pints (I measured it). The 24-pint rating is for maximum daily moisture removal, so the tank needs to be emptied several times throughout the day. The compact design and white plastic exterior are attractive. The touch controls are basic, but simple to operate. The humidity percentages shown on the LED display are easy to read and accurate, since they match the results of my nearby hygrometer. There is no mention of Energy Star compliance, but the unit's label states that it conforms to both UL and CSA Group (Canadian Standards Association) standards, which provides some safety and quality peace of mind. ... show more

    • A Fantastic Compact Unit that Delivers Excellent Performance
I am accustomed to using much larger units—specifically a 50-pint model—so I was interested to see how this more compact, 24-pint dehumidifier would stack up. I have to say, for its size, it is incredibly efficient. It doesn't take up nearly as much footprint as my larger unit, making it perfect for tighter spaces where the big one just wouldn't fit, yet it still manages to handle humidity very effectively. Functionally, it works very well. It pulls moisture out of the air reliably, and features like the drain hose option and the 24-hour timer add a lot of convenience to the daily operation. It runs smoothly and maintains the environment exactly as I want it. What stands out most to me is the overall value proposition here. It is a solid, hardworking machine that offers great performance without the bulk of a larger industrial unit.     • It Works. Semi Intuitive. Save Instructions.
I am not an expert on de-humidifiers so I will say what I know about de-humidifying and this units ability to do what it claims. In its simplest terms a de-humidifier is an air conditioner that's missing a few components. Some things that they have in common is de-humidifying and electric consumption as this unit draws as much electric as a small window unit and makes almost as much noise. That being said one would ask "why not just get an AC unit?" Two reasons. One cannot be installed in the desired area and the other, the room is at the desired temp and additional humidity is still present. The later is what my mother experiences. It is a very small 400SQ room with the smallest mini-split AC unit that we could find. Because the unit is a bit oversized for the space de-humidifying is not the best. The unit is on wheels and it moves and spins around very well. You need to do nothing to get it started. Plug it in and press power. It defaults at 50% de-humidification. The levels and even the noise can be adjusted. Not eliminated but less frequent cycles. As I said I am not an expert but I did test it in my house. Placed it in a 900 SQft room. I have gauges so the current humidity was 60%. It was a cold night. Not enough for air conditioning and it was humid outside. When the unit fired up it read 60% humidity and started going at it. After 2.5 hours the reservoir was filling with water but the humidity was the same. That doesn't mean it wasn't working but I think the claim of how large of a space it can handle is mis-represented. I re-located to a much smaller room and left it there for a few hours and the humidity did indeed drop. Conclusion is the thing works but not as as well as claimed. Keep the instructions as adjusting the units settings in not intuitive. I could not find any mention of a warranty. Cheers ... show more
