The media could not be loaded. I went back and forth on units to buy for my bedroom, and this one had the most consistent positive reviews. Setup was super straight forward, everything works perfectly and the unit is ice cold and pretty quiet. I found that it has almost a “ringing” noise from the air flow that I thought was gonna be a deal breaker but I actually got used to the sound and it doesn’t bother me at all. It self “regulates” according to whatever you have it set at, however, i’ve found that it’s very off on temperature. But it’s really not a big deal you just go based off how cool you like it at. I did end up buying a condenser pump because I live in Florida and the humidity is insane. I would definitely recommend getting a pump because it seems to put off a lot of water(at least where i’m at). But it’s a great unit all around, would definitely recommend. ... show more

Was shipped on time with appropriate safe packaging. ( I still tilted unit to unpack so I waited the suggested 2 days to settle the fluids before initiated use) All 3 settings have run efficiently as hoped for. Air conditioner brought the 10 X 14 room from 80 to 62 degrees F. In less than 2 hours. Fan setting is nice to aerate room when moderate temperatures outside. The dehumidifier worked on less hot days since location is 3 miles from the Sea and gets humidity. I attached the hose to a one gallon bucket and emptied about 1-2 cups of water after running all day/night. For installation I used the panel components vertically with weather- stripping and it looked neat and worked well.( was able to install with windows screen in place) I also used a window security screw which only allows window to slide open only so far( the width of enclosed exiting hose /panel) I allowed close to 2 feet distance between window and Unit. ( secured it like a water heater to prevent falls) There's discussion on pros and cons of collapsing venting hose to a shorter distance and having Unit closer to window to decrease less warm air escaping via vent hose and seeping back into room one is cooling. I went with the Instructions and like the Unit about to 2-3 feet into the room space and it is successful in maintaining low temperature so far. Am loving the remote control while in bed, although have not used all the variations yet. White noise is acceptable to me, or when cool enough I shut it off for the night.( settings for that, too) I'm glad I could set it up by myself( a senior woman with " not just a pretty face!") Weight of Unit is ok, rolling castors are effective. I really did well in purchasing this unit. I don't need it every month, but does the job when it's too hot. ... show more

This portable air conditioner is alright. It overall works well, blows cold air, comes with the window adapter part which is still feasible to assemble. It's just the air duct or pipe that's a bit hard to connect most of the times and falls off easily. So you always have to try to figure out a good way to keep it attached somehow. It's made me plastic and is elastic, which makes it hard to stay on. That and the water pipe which fills up pretty quick too, so you have to watch out for that from time to time before it overflows. This is a preliminary review since I haven't had it long enough to judge its longevity but .. So far the wife and I are loving the AC. We are familiar with portable AC units and own two other black and decker models First shipping .. We ordered on the 12th because our bedroom AC started to act weird and we received it on the 18th. For me .. that is pretty damned fast. Communication .. I had two questions about the AC and the seller got back to me quickly. The AC .. It is much quieter than the 8000 btu Black and decker we had in the bedroom. It also has a more pleasing white noise effect. All you here is the sound of rushing air and much less of the workings of the unit. I would say it is about 50% quieter than the B&D It blows COLD! We live in Central AZ. Temp has been hovering around the 112 degree mark for over a week. Cool weather is when its 107. We have it in our bedroom which is a smallish room but the sun beats on the house so hard the walls are hot. With the B&D we would start eh ac in the room at about 3pm even though we wouldnt be in the room until 8pm and would still be sweating. It never actually got cool in the room just less sweaty. Not with this AC. I start it an hour before we plan on going to the room and its already nice and cool. This during 112 degrees and our house not very well insulated. By the middle of the night we are actually chilly. Installation was a breeze. I have my outlet hose on a vertical window. Instructions are provided but its not really necessary. Its pretty straight forward. I like the adjustable vent because we have it sitting on a counter top that is 30" high and we can direct the vents down and to the side so the wife and I have cold air blowing directly on us. Price .. I was concerned that a cheap price made for a crappy product. I almost bought another B&D but we decided to give this one a go. We paid some $244 for it with free shipping. For what i have and how well it works .. that was a BARGAIN! I will update this review if the unit fails or I run into problems but so far VERY PLEASED! ... show more
