I ordered this 2 days ago for an upcoming beach trip. Despite being squarely in the "you get what you pay for" camp, I went cheap figuring it might be a throw-away item if it gets ruined by sand, salt water and wind. When it arrived today, quicker than promised, I took it out to make sure it would work for my needs. I was surprised to find a solid metal frame and durable, opaque canopy. Both were easy to assemble, the legs slid easily and locked with a gratifying click, and the quality appears to be first-rate. While I have not tested it in oceanside conditions yet, I think this canopy is just as good a quality as the 12x12 Coleman canopy we have had for several years. I thought it deserved another 5-star review to go along with the few it currently has. If you're like me and trying to decide between this and one of the $130+ versions with more reviews, I would seriously give this one a chance. ... show more

Beware that Z Shade does NOT warranty this product if you don't purchase from authorized dealer. Purchased two of these in white. One arrived missing a pin that holds angle bar into top of leg. Called Z Shade at 855-497-4233 and was told they would NOT repair or replace. UPDATE: Z Shade sent me replacement for defective product. It sat in my garage until I needed it this weekend. Only then did I realize that Z Shade replaced my defective product with a defective product. In this case, the leg pin that sets the height of the leg was broken. ... show more

What a great EZ shade canopy! I set it up and took it down with 4 friends without bending the metal legs. The C rings and buttons to provide the height worked well. The cover was white and it was durable. So satisfied with the canopy I want to purchase another one.

Works very well! At first getting it going solo seemed slightly challenging , but after the first time getting it installed , it's very easy to do even by yourself . Only thing is the material of the fabric feels like it can tear easily from the feel of it. Hasn't happened yet tho so still giving 5 stars . Love this - well made, and sturdy - it was pretty easy to set up with just my husband and myself.. We use it to provide a shaded area over the kiddie pool we have for our dog. It sure is nice, especially with the hot humid weather we've been having! The thing I like the least about it is that the fabric doesn't provide as much shade as I thought it would - however I ordered white, perhaps one of the other colors would provide better shading. ... show more

We had been using this occasionally for about a year and a half. It worked great for camping or backyard shade and is easy to set-up and put away. One day it was windy and it fell and the leg got dented. It was a small dent but it would no longer lock and stay open. I contacted the seller hoping they could send me a replacement piece-or direct me to where I could find one. Their response was that it has been past 30 days so "there is noting we can for you at this time". So now, it is landfill and I really thought the seller could've had any concern or remedy to help their product last longer. I will not be buying again! ... show more

    • looks good but not easy to set up for shorter people.

The shades when they are set up look very nice. For me they are not too hard to set up each time as I am 6'5" but for my coworkers who are under 6' it gets a bit tricky for them. If you are not over 6' then you will need to keep the shade at its lowest leg setting so you can get the top fully open. Even then it is hard to set up with just one person. The top does not slide up the legs as easy as the instructions make it look. To get it fully open you need to push the center braces up to full height then you will be able to get the pins to go into the locking hole. The shades are light enough for a smaller person to move around when collapsed. The canvas is a bit thin but it has held up well in the North Carolina coast winds well enough. It is a less expensive shade so i do not expect perfection. I would buy again. ... show more

I'd read through many reviews and found this to be one of the top reviewed canopies for the price. We ordered two of them for a big birthday party. Unfortunately I didn't put the stakes all the way into the ground and a light wind came and flipped one over and bent one of the legs. I was hoping this was a bit more robust than other shades, but I think most all of the cheap light weight aluminum can suffer from the same wind issues. So it's good, but I don't think it's much better than other options unless you spend much more. ... show more
