Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it was a bit hard to put together for a single person as well as the bolts didn't fit the nuts and I had to go to Lowes to buy a new ones. The bolts that fit into the frame worked well though. It was only around $5 but I had to sleep on my couch for the night since I was the idiot that started putting it together at 11pm. Now that it's put together it is very sturdy and a lot taller than my previous bed frame, which I like since I'm a big person. My previous frame would also move during my sleep and this one is heavy enough to stay in place. If I could I'd give 4.5 stars because of the stipulations during the setup, but I don't feel right giving it 5 stars because I had to go out to buy more stuff when everything should have been in the box. It is definitely steel and very sturdy. It has plenty of slats, so the mattress does not sag anywhere, and it provides the best support we have ever had. I also like the fact that eliminates the need for a box spring - and that the frame is a very comfortable height - not too low - not too high - just right.
