I could easily give the Yolockey Purple Forged Vinyl Wrap a low rating because there is a major discrepancy between the description and what I received. It is listed as a 59ft x 5ft roll and I only received a small 1ft x 5ft roll. When I ordered it, I assumed it was a mistake, so I'm not surprised or disappointed. The product is so nice that it would not be fair to remove stars because of this mistake so my review is of the product only, ignoring this error. The vinyl wrap looks stunning, at a sharp angle the intense dark purple looks like it is a solid color but as you just subtly change the angle you are looking at, it lights up and changes appearance. There is a funky electric purple pattern that emerges that is hard to describe and is something you really need to see to believe, pictures do not do it justice. The vinyl has a clear temporary protective layer to protect it from being scratched as you stretch and squeegee it down and then is peeled off after the film is fully adhered. The back of the wrap has microscopic air channels that do a fantastic job of removing air bubbles as you squeegee them down. It has an initially low tack adhesive so it can be repositioned over and over and then when heat is applied the adhesive activates for a permanent bond. After the adhesive liner and protective clear film are removed, the final wrap film is very thin while also being quite strong and will only tear if you overheat it. ... show more

    • Gorgeous Look but Needs Some Real Skill

The forged purple pattern is honestly striking. It has a metallic depth that changes as you walk around the car, which is exactly what I was hoping for. That said, I wouldn’t hand this to a first-timer. With it being a PET-based film, it feels a bit more rigid than the thinner vinyls. That stiffness means it’s less likely to tear, but it’s a lot harder to stretch around those tricky curved mirror covers. I had to pull it back and hit it with the heat gun a few times (well, more than a few) to get it to lay flat without wrinkling. It’s a fantastic DIY project if you’ve done a few wraps before, but beginners might find it more of a struggle than it’s worth. ... show more

I selected this purple forged carbon fiber vinyl to wrap a kid jeep for my child, hoping for a professional-looking finish. At first glance, the material itself looks quite good. The purple hue is deep, and the gloss finish gives the forged carbon pattern a realistic, high-end appearance that would look striking on any vehicle if the dimensions were correct. Unfortunately, the actual utility of this wrap is severely limited by a major discrepancy in its advertised size. The product description states the measurements are 59ft by 5ft, but the roll provided was significantly narrower than five feet. This lack of width made it impossible to get clean, continuous cuts for the body panels I needed to cover. When the physical product does not match the dimensions promised in the listing, it makes planning any project a frustrating guessing game. Just like with any wrap, make sure you prep your surfaces perfectly clean. This wrap has a really rich color, nice glossy finish, and deep carbon patterns. On a perfectly clean surface, use your heat gun or hair dryer to shape your wrap. Once heated, it is much more pliable. Make sure you have your felt squeegee and other supplies on hand.
