  • You won't be disappointed. Great customer service.
Set name: 18000 BTU 208-230V / 21 SEER2 -- WiFi--Q
Excellent customer service. I had trouble connecting the app to wifi. I emailed the company and they walked me thru the steps. When that didn't work, they walked me thru additional steps. When every avenue I tried didn't solve the problem they took care of me. I was especially impressed that they responded to my emails within 24 hours...every time. We emailed back and forth at least 8 times. The mini split unit itself is excellent. Our power bill reflects the efficiency. We live in the very hot Arizona desert in an RV. Rvs have no insulation so for an AC unit to cool us off is amazing. The compressor is so quiet you can barely hear it running. Same for the unit itself. The fan we have running to push the air into the back room is noisier. The system itself was fairly easy to install. We ran a wire to our 50amp service. The trailer is powered with the 30 amp service. The best part is I can use appliances while the air is running without tripping a breaker. Well worth the money. ... show more

  • Failed after 6 months. Insanely loud. Worst and most stressful Amazon purchase in 16 years.
Set name: 18000 BTU 208-230V / 21 SEER2 -- WiFi--Q
My wife and I bought our first home together a year ago as of writing this. We needed to replace noisy, inefficient baseboard heaters in our downstairs living space. After some thought and research, we decided to order this unit. Having a background in automotive, carpentry, woodworking, and electrical, I felt more than confident to take on the task of installing the unit myself. Installation was... difficult. It takes a lot of precise planning on hooking one of these up, including the electrical, running the plumbing/drain hoses. The unit did what we needed it to most of the summer. It was warm in early summer, and blew nice cold air on hot summer days. For the most part, we didn't have any serious problems with it. Fast forward to now... This YITAHOME mini split, in the last 2~ months, has become a stressful nightmare to me. The colder it got, the louder and louder it got and ran. It was barely blowing warm air. The noise was INSANELY loud and debilitating, it sounded like a power plant some evenings. But it was our only source of heat for a significant part of our house. It caused me many sleepless nights, worrying about it failing (or worse), and the stress of it failing and making our house get too cold. I have tools to detect leaks and there were no significant leaks in the system. Someway, somehow, the heat pump/compressor system started to catastrophically fail. I called around for help, and no one will touch this unit, because it is not a well-known, brand name mini split you can order parts for. Eventually it totally crapped out, and we are now paying professionals $8,000+ to put a high-end Carrier system in. I am out a LOT of money, including the tools and fittings I had to buy to make this work. I can't put into words the amount of stress this YITAHOME mini split has caused me. The installation, the noise, wrecking our sleep, all of it. I think, people need to be VERY cautious about buying this, or any of these "DIY" brand mini split systems. YouTube videos make you think these things are very doable, but they don't paint the full picture. This thing was very trying for me, and I have a lot of experience in the skills needed to install one of these. And it's failure is $700 + another $500 down the drain in tools and accessories to do the job and diagnose issues, not to mention all the stress it's caused me. The pros told me these Amazon units (including this brand and "Mr. Cool") only come with a 1-year warranty because they're junk, and you can expect the parts to fail, and you can't replace them after. There's a reason pros charge so much money to do these. They're very delicate machines that require a very good vacuum and then a very precise amount of refrigerant. Despite these units coming "precharged", I question if the refrigerant amount was off. If you are going to go the DIY route, number one; I don't recommend this brand. And number two; I really wouldn't use this on a critical space where you live in and need heat, especially in frigid winters where it can fail. If I were gonna do a DIY unit again, I would only do it in my barn/workshop. ... show more

  • Get some filter mesh, Take the instructions with a grain of salt
Set name: 18000 BTU 208-230V / 21 SEER2 -- WiFi--Q
As much as I would love to give this 5 stars, I can't. The unit works, it blows cold air, installation was smooth (if you have the correct tools: Vacuum pump, manifold gauge, torque wrench, crows foot, Allen keys). It's quiet and easily mounted. R32 is, at least available, if something goes wrong. But if you perform the installation correctly you won't need it. What's wrong? This particular unit doesn't have filters to cover every inlet. So in particularly dusty environments, you'll want to cut your own from some filter mesh. It seems cheap to me, but I guess it depends on your environment. My unit has a filter on the primary air inlet on the top, but none in the front below the panel. The front panel IS NOT a filter, and every mini-split I've installed or seen has both front and top for that reason. That said, filter mesh costs $10 on Amazon so get it. The second issue is the instructions. If you are DIY'ing this for the first time, and have never done it before, watch some videos or do some research before hand. The instructions tell you to pull vacuum on the lines, then skip over shutting off the lo side of the manifold gauge prior to opening the stop valve... Step 4. says "After applying vacuum, fully open the stop valve with a hex wrench" If you do this, all of your refrigerant will suck out through the vacuum pump, especially since step 3. doesn't say to shut the vacuum off. Again, great unit otherwise, my summery is get some filter mesh for the front, and don't follow the instructions verbatim. Do your research. R32 is over $200 for 5lbs right now. ... show more

  • Great bang for your buck!
Set name: 18000 BTU 208-230V / 21 SEER2 -- WiFi--Q
As an HVAC technician, I wasn’t concerned about the difficulty of installation. But I was concerned about the quality at the price. This unit had everything I needed with the exception of some seal tight and a disconnect for the outside unit. So far so good, the flares were great and sealed up no issue. Everything was surprising quality to me. After installation I turned power on and everything came on flawlessly. Heating mode works great, cooling mode works great. I haven’t tried using the app yet, but my barn was 81°f and 80% humidity when I was finished with the install. Within 30 mins the barn was 72°f and 55% humidity. I now have it set to maintain 76° f and it’s working perfectly. I cannot talk on longevity of the system. But as HVAC journeyman of 8 years, install is the most important part of a system’s ability to last. You must get a good seal on your flare joints and you must not kink your lineset. Make sure your drain is sloped and the connections are tight. Pressure test the system with nitrogen before pulling a vacuum. Make sure you pull a deep strong vacuum using a micron gauge to gauge that it gets below 500 microns for more than 10 mins with the pump off. Make sure all electrical connections are tight and sealed. Follow the guidelines for clearances around the indoor and outdoor unit. Then after the install make sure you keep your filters clean and the outside unit clean as well. As for Noise level it is very quiet as you’d expect a ductless mini split to be. For the price this is an unbeatable value for your money! I would not hesitate to buy another one of these and install it elsewhere or install it for friends or family. ... show more

  • Lifesaver through winter and summer!
Set name: 18000 BTU 208-230V / 21 SEER2 -- WiFi--Q
We got this unit past winter and absolutely love it. It kept us comfortable all season, and now that it’s a scorching summer, it’s keeping our whole house incredibly cool and comfortable. My boyfriend’s dad installed it for us, which was a huge help since we wouldn't have known where to start. If you have the means to get it installed properly, I definitely recommend going with a split AC/heater unit! ... show more

Hottest day of the year and installed this..... did what the install video said to do step by step. Got it all set up and finished but keep getting a F6 code and all the wiring is to there specs, but no go..... outside unit is not working, you can hear a click sound near the wires in the outside unit and the inside units runs for 30 seconds then gives the F6 code. The the othere thing is the description said its a 1/4" x 3/8" line set but it is a 1/4"x 1/2" so the line set I needed was a 25' and had to go to the local big box store to get a 1/4x1/2 line set as the one in the description said was wrong.....
