Great Printer, Minor Quirks The YILONG Tattoo Stencil Printer is a solid device. The print quality is good, and the Bluetooth connection is generally reliable. However, I did experience a few instances where the printer seemed to lose connection briefly, requiring me to reconnect. Also, the stencil paper it uses can be a bit pricey. Overall, a worthwhile investment, but be aware of these minor drawbacks.

FINAL EDIT 10.15.24: I'm not sure what changed but I tried this printer again and it is now behaving much better. I am able to print without paper jams if I print the entire stencil sheet from the top instead of just trying to print on a portion of it for smaller tattoos (like I can do on bigger printers). The print quality is still a bit spotty even with density set to "high", but I can make it work. And I do love the portability and wireless design. I'm keeping all my troubleshooting info below in case other tattoo artists find it helpful. EDITED AGAIN: After trying a bunch more tests on this printer I am disappointed to say I can't get it to work reliably. More often than not, the feed pulls on the top sheet faster than on the purple sheet, so it gets all crumpled and ruins the stencil. Even when I was able to get it to print a full stencil, the line quality is fuzzy and lots of details are lost. (This is on Spirit brand paper.) I took a couple of pix comparing the Yilong stencil quality to the stencil printed on a borrowed LifeBasis thermal printer (the $85 one you see advertised under lots of different brand names, that requires you to print out the image first on regular paper.) That printer is bigger, heavier, and requires access to a laser printer, but it actually works decently well compared to the Yilong. I haven't tried any other direct-print thermal stencil printers yet but it would be great if I could find one that works. With this one, the idea is better than the reality. EDIT: ADDED two stars after seller responded promptly and helpfully and I played with the printer some more: My Iphone bluetooth had a hard time connecting to the printer but I did finally get it to work. My (old, 2015) Ipad connected easily but it kept printing cut images--like part of the image just moved over to the side. Probably my fault for using a 9-year-old device. From the phone, printing quality is a bit irregular/still trying different settings and stencil paper brands, but I got some good prints so am hopeful. It works best when you print an uncut sheet—I had feed issues when trying to print on smaller pieces of stencil paper.

I spent hours pulling my hair out trying to get this thing to work, charged it, tried putting paper in many different ways, no matter what I would do it would not sense any paper. I got it to work for a bit after wiggling the paper around and pushing down on the top, it started printing and stopped a quarter of the way through and said it was out of paper, then "printing complete". I'm not sure how there are so many good reviews when I'm ready to throw this thing out the window.

Love this printer! It's small enough to be portable and doesn't take up much surface area, but it's large enough to create bigger stencils. The print quality is outstanding and I love that it also works with mobile devices as well as computers. Definitely recommend!
