Don't buy. I wouldn't buy again. I bought two of these. One about a year or more ago. That chair was fine. A little wobbly but it was fine. I had to get a new one though because for some reason one of the arm pieces developed a crack. I decided on the new one before it snapped completely and I fall over backwards. The second chair is very different. It looks the same at first until you compare them. It is actually smaller than the first one I got. The seat leans forward so it feels like I am about to fall out constantly. The arm pads wore out within the first day of using it. The padding is flattened. The seat is more narrow and the back isn't as tall. I am BARELY half the weight of a 400 pound person... I took the chair apart and put it back together just to make sure it wasn't my fault that the seat is leaning forward. It is still leaning forward. Don't buy unless you like gambling.

It has no "metal base" - it is now 6 plastic pieces which lock together. Also, apparently no "bonded leather." It appears to be a very, very thin layer of plastic naughahyde on a cloth backer. You can actually see the weave of the fabric through the plastic. Assembly went OK, but forget about Fig. 14 - it is 180o a**-backwards. Look at the drawing on the front of the instructions for the placement of the arms. The quilted part of both back and seat go together. They took a classic design and did a good job of reproducing it. While time will tell, at the moment the cushioning is very good-excellent and it gives great back support. Very comfortable, but a bit sticky since it, apparently, is NOT bonded leather. My old bonded leather chair has served for a decade and a half; I have full confidence in it's bonded leather with a canvas backing, which over time has gradually worn away is certain high traffic areas. It has always been comfortable, never sticky. I am afraid that with the present chair even a sharp fingernail will rip that plastic. So be warned and careful. Chair is comfortable, but sticky, since you do not get "bonded leather." WRT "tilting," yes you can get it to "tilt" but not the way you imagine - you can adjust the range that it will swivel due to a spring adjustment on the bottom. Not quite what I had in mind. What a shame that they didn't do it in real bonded leather!

I finally decided to review this chair as I am quite satisfied with it. I noticed three newer one star reviews saying not all parts were included...I thought the same thing but the assembly parts are inside the back support piece and can be accessed via a zipper on one of the seams. At 6 feet tall and 230 pounds I find this chair to be rock solid with excellent support. Easily the best chair I have ever owned...and easily the most expensive. The frame is steel and it sits higher at its lowest setting than most chairs so I would not recommend it for people shorter than myself. I like the armrests which can be put up out of the way and the relatively flat seat allows me to comfortably straddle the seat in a wide legged position. I find it to be firm and supportive in the seat and lower back. I don't recline in it and it might be a little short for those large people that do. I'm glad I spent the extra money for the amount of time I spend seated.

Easy to assemble and does fit a large 6'3" 240 lb body. The bad news, the seat is hard as a rock. If you plan on sitting in this chair purchase some kind of memory foam pad for it. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. There is really no lumbar support to speak of. Not a good quality chair for the price.

This is definitely a step up comparing to my old office chair. It also provides much more space than my old chair. The cushion is firm but very comfortable. The back provides very good support and also flexible if you lay back. Very beautiful chair with black color! It is fairly easy to setup based on the instructions. It also provides extra parts. Very happy with the purchase for now! Hope this last longer than my last chair. By the way, all the parts are in the back apartment.
