If you weld for a living you're not going to buy a sub 100 dollar helmet. However if you're a hobbyist, THIS IS THE HOT SETUP!! Full size window provides OUTSTANDING view of the work. SO MUCH BETTER than the 20 yr old one I had with the small window. I totally love this unit. They say a truly good product will surprise and delight...and this one does.

I am weekend warrior, so I weld every once in a while, for a couple of hours. The quality is good, definitely not cheap. One beef I have is that when I take it off, it so happens (wearing gloves) I touch the button that slides between the 'grinding' and 'welding' modes, towards 'grinding' and when I weld I blind myself. It my bad, I know, but the button placement is off for me. Please check the settings every time you put the helmet on!

I weld 8-12 hours a day. This helmet is amazing for its price point. The helmet is not made of the strongest plastic but performs well. One thing to consider is the round lense cover. You have to be aware of how you place the helmet down if you put it face down on any rough surface you WILL scratch the cover. Besides that, this is an awesome helmet. The veiwing area is huge, full color, controls work well, easy set up. For me it was extremely comfortable and the head harness fits great once adjusted properly to your liking.

This helmet sure beats my Chicago electric cheaply I had, the view area is nice and the picture is clear. The head gear is actually quite comfortable. Only issue I have had it I forget to put it back to weld after I grind and well, I flash myself pretty good. User error. Is it as good as a miller/Lincoln that’s 3x the price? I can’t say, but it’s a good helmet and is comfortable to wear. I would recommend it!

The only issue I have found is it is advertised as having a full color display and in reality it is green screen unless you are at just the right angle. It is light weight, comfortable and it works very well. It out performs my other hood in all of those categories which cost approximately twenty five dollars more when I purchased it. I would buy it again.

I've been a $50 hood from harbor freight for years, I had no idea what I was missing for an extra $20. Ive now got a massive view field, and can actually see what I'm doing. The true color is awesome, I can see my joint and weld puddle in detail, I went from booger welder to not having to touch my grinder, overnight. And now that I have settings for cutting and grinding, I have full face protection for that too. Oh and the head hear is extremely comfortable, nicely padded.

I think it will be a fine hood for my shop work bench Tig welding projects. I'm not sure how it would fair in a ditch welding pipe day in day out. It is comfy to me and has easy to reach adjustments. I like it. It does come with a bag and extra exterior lens cover and battery that's easy to replace and access.
