I bought this for my husband almost a year ago, and he is still raving about hiw great it is. He had been using a really old one from like the 70s, and it was bad. Really foggy and just about worthless. This new one is like a breath of fresh air, clear as a bell, auto dim (omg what they come up with in 50 years!!) And zoomy flame design! He's a happy old welder now, even if he rarely welds anymore, he's in style when he does!. All in all, an excellent product for a reasonable price.

Looks good feels good definitely worth the money I have left mine on before and a few hours later I went to use it and it shut itself off and I about blinded myself so that’s one thing to keep in mind after purchasing but all you have to do is turn it off and back on again and your all good

I did wait a few weeks to write this review, because, I was skeptical at first because of the price. I mean, how good can a $30 welding helmet be. I was wrong. I am not a welder by trade or by education. I learned to weld on my own because we needed to make repairs in my job in a family owned equipment repair company. Anyway, this helmet is many times better than the Harbor Freight auto-darkening helmet this one replaced for half the cost. The true color works, not the best in the world, I mean come on it's $30. It darkens fast, shields my eyes and face, even has an rechargeable led light on top for low light situations which is detachable so you don't have to walk around looking like a miner. The best part is, it has replaceable batteries and extra clear splatter shield, where the more pricey Harbor Freight ones do not. The helmet has plenty of adjustment to fit pretty much any head. I am sure there are plenty of actual welders that would disagree, I like the helmet and I think it is a great product fr the home owner, casual welder type of person that doesn't use it all day every day. Glad I chose this model and I think yo would as well.

The hood was very well made the light that comes with it charges easily and last for a while. It comes with a spare pack of batteries for the auto tinting but right now I have 15 hours runtime on the battery that come in it. The gloves are well made in a better quality than what come with the welder I bought

I'm going to start off with the bad so I can end on a high note. That said the head gear for this is very possibly the worst excuse for head gear I have ever seen! Put the hood up and that action loosens the parts that hold it up and it drops back down almost immediately. I swapped the R and L sides to get it to stay up a little better but not much. If you are going to get this hood order an upgraded head gear set up at the same time. You've been warned!! The light it comes with is weak and doesn't last long before needing to be charged (not even 8 hrs. of life in it). I upgraded that with a Slonik head lamp, it's not a perfect fit but the results of this change are stellar (the Slonik has a rechargeable battery so if you get an extra and the battery dies you can just change it and carry on) The electronics this has are (so far) incredible! This hood was $47 and change and I was stunned by the clarity and what I could see easily. Right out of the box I liked the view through this hood more than the $300.00 Miller hood when it was brand new. I did NOT expect that! I thought this was going to be a stop gap hood until I could a Speed Glass again and I was going to suffer some kind of nonsense until then, however, depending on how this one lasts and after the upgrades I don't feel pressure to get the Speed Glass. With the upgrades it brought the price to around $100 - $110 and I am very happy with this purchase.
