I'm one of those folks who makes every hank of yarn I get into a ball before I start working with it because I HATE having to stop work in the middle of a project so that I can untangle yarn barf. I also hate getting part way through a new set of yarn and find a bunch of knots from the factory where they started a new string. Prior to getting this winder, I did it all by hand which can be time consuming (not to mention easy to drop and have the ball roll away across the room and under a piece of furniture). This winder worked perfectly and was so fast. I was able to get it set up and turn a skein of yarn into a cake in a matter of minutes. The clamp worked nicely on my table top and didn't leave any marks. The handle is a little small for larger hands but it worked fine for my purposes. It comes with some crafting accessories as well - a small scissors, some locking stitch markers, and some yarn needles. I'm not sure I'll use the yarn needles because I have some metal ones I prefer, but the other items will come in handy for traveling projects. Pink isn't my favorite color but I don't plan on having this sitting out for all to see either. All in all, if you do a lot of yarn crafting, I think this is a good investment. ... show more

I am a knitter and hand spinner; my teen daughter is a crocheter. I figured we could both put this product to good use, so I order it as soon as I saw it on Vine! My daughter has already taken most of our regular skeins of yarn and rewound them into nicely wound balls that are perfect for hand work. This has a super easy set up and simple directions. It’s very convenient to turn your yarn into cakes for easier storage. The only reason it isn’t a 5 star for me is that it cannot wind a full skein, you have to split it because the guide isn’t large enough for the full skein.

I saw videos and reels with these and wants to try one. I'm so glad I did because it's so much easier using this then making ball in my hand. It's easy to attach the piece together. Easy to read instructions included. Now When I'm done with a skein of yarn I can easily wind and not get a cramp in my hand holding the ball of yarn. The media could not be loaded. This yarn winder was easy to set up. The table needs to have 1.25" of clearance underneath for the clamp to be able to grip properly. Also the clamp opens up 2" wide if someone has a thicker table top. I was able to wind a 4.2 ounce ball of 4 ply yarn which was 5" wide. For my use this is more than adequate, as I will use it for leftover skeins of yarn from completed projects. ... show more
