  • Lock functions very well. The app programming is much too tedious for Airbnb use
Style: Lock + Norwood Lever Color: Black Size: touchscreen
The lock physically functions well. However, there was a consistency problem with auto locking/unlocking via the Bluetooth connection's geofencing info. Also, the app programming is substandard, requiring much too much info about guests for Airbnb use. I just want to generate a code for guests specific to a date range (with times). We tried the WiFi version, which was not compatible with Alexa or Google Home. For that, you'll need to get the Z-Wave / Zigbee compatible smart module ($99) instead of the WiFi module. I couldn't find a Yale Assure Lock 2 Touchscreen with this configuration available. ... show more

  • Great integration with Alexa
Style: Lock + Ridgefield Handle Color: Black Size: touchscreen
I have the first generation of the Yale Assure Lock with the August module and have been pleased with both the lock and the integration with Alexa. My favorite feature so far has been when she mentions the back door is unlocked and asks if it should be locked. So when I was looking to replace the front door lock, I went for the newer version with the key and wifi. I will always recommend the keyed version despite the other versions looking so streamlined because I know you can get into the house with the key if something goes wrong with the lock. Yes, you are supposed to be able to use a 9 volt battery to revive the lock so you can access the house, but a key is easier in my opinion. Gone are the days of needing a bridge to connect to wifi which is great, but I have read that the battery life is only three months. I have not yet installed the door sensor which tells you if the door is open or shut. There are actually two options for this. One option is a sensor that is screwed to the door frame and the other option is a small sensor which requires a hole to be drilled into the door frame. I am not thrilled with either option for my door and so have been debating. Installation was easy, but I have installed lots of locks. I had no problem also getting everything set up in the app. The app isnt the best with some lags, but I actually rarely use it other than to send me alerts when the door is unlocked. All of my interactions are through my Echo or physically at the door. The lock looks nice and it works well. My favorite features include the ability to give out codes to enter the house that I can then disable once that person no longer needs access. But the integration with Alexa is icing on the cake. I can set locking the doors as part of a routine I created for Alexa at night. She turns off lights and locks the doors and reminds me if I haven’t locked the doors. And no more leaving the house for a trip and wondering if the door is locked. I can just check my phone. ... show more

  • Solid feeling handle
Style: Lock + Ridgefield Handle Color: Satin Nickel Size: touchscreen
Hope the pics are helpful👍.Cheers! Comes in very friendly easy to open unsealed ecopackaging. The door handle itself feels good in your hands. Has weight to it and a nice glossy sheen. I picked the steel version because the door I planned to install it on faces the sun and so would heat up in the summer had I gone for the back one. Setting it up on my door took a bit of fiddeling. I didn't read the instructions as I figured I just had to do the reverse of what I did to remove my existing handle. The only item that threw me was the knob hardware came attached and so it took me a while to figure out how to take it apart so I could finally get the screws on. There is a single golden button on the collar of the knob. You need to push it in and pull the knob off so you can access the plate in the back to use your drill or screwdriver on it. I have an existing keypad by Yale on the door right now that will move to my back door when I have the chance. That said I know the installation will be the same as the pad is the same model. It's not too difficult to install if your replacing an existing set. What I mean is that I didn't have to drill any holes using the hole templates so it was a fairly easy swap in a hole for me. You can use both the Yale or the august app to setup the lock. My lock came with the wifi module which is great. I can tell you that the Yale lock is compatible with the august bridge for wifi which was great since I had one. The only downside is that it's one to one. Meaning one bridge per lock or one wifi module per lock is needed. A bridge won't work for 2 locks even when they're in close proximity. Seems to be a hard limit as I could not get both my locks on one. ... show more

  • HANDLE DOES NOT WORK WITH EVERY DOOR
Style: Lock + Norwood Lever Color: Satin Nickel Size: touchscreen
the lock itself is great but the handle is poor. they do not tell you that this only works on certain doors. the handles are not compatible with the "handling" of our door and they are not adjustable. they do not mention this on the website. could have just bought the lock for 200 and not had wasted an extra 100 dollars on the handles.. .sigh ... show more
