I tried a few different types of materials too, including heavy denim and had no problem getting the job done. I have several pairs of pants that need hemming which are next in line. I can say this machine is easy to use, so far so good… I am not a seamstress and have no skills with sewing machines. This little machine worked for my needs and was not hard for me to learn. The stitches were even on all of my garments..including the heavy denim skirt which i was worried about. Next I will try to hem a jacket that has some filling in it and see how it does.
