I have put it on. Then did a trial run. In other words. I pressed the brake. The engine came on. I did however get the vehicle to go into gear. As it began to move the lock did its job. Although when the brake was depressed it wouldn't stop the vehicle. My heart went into shock. I had to out the vehicle into park nearly shredding my transmission. It didn't. However if a criminal does happen to try and steal your vehicle the transmission may very well be shucked. ... show more

    • Product will work, you just have to be flexible to get it on and off.
Just got this in the mail today. Product works, though the pins inside the lock rotate around while you're driving with it sitting in your car, so I'd recommend leaving the key inside it while driving around with this in your vehicle. I have a Honda that is low to the ground, so it is very awkward getting it on and off, as I have to squat down outside of the car with the door wide open, to get it on. Would be difficult to do if someone is parked close to you on the driver side. Make sure to put it on with the keyhole side facing the driver's door, so you can see what you're doing, or else it will be a huge pain to try to unlock it in the dark if you can't see where to insert the key. One day of using it and I'm already annoyed by it, so I'm purchasing a wheel clamp lock to use daily ($25 here on Amazon), as that will be much easier to get on and off quickly, and very visible to would-be thieves, so more of a deterrent than this, where nobody would see it until they're already in your car and have possibly messed up your ignition to start the car. I'll still use this product anytime I'm away from my home, but it seems like a big hassle to get on and off every time I go out running errands. Before buying this, go out to your car and just see how easily you can get to your pedals, as it may be very easy with a car that is higher off the ground than mine. ... show more

    • Makes me feel more secure about leaving my car somewhere, and it's very convenient to use!
I have had three cars since I have bought this, and only with my second car, a 2013 Toyota Prius C, did I have issues getting the device around the pedal of my car. It is perfect if you have a manual car because it goes right around the clutch, and it works very well on my 2013 Honda Civic around the brake pedal. It comes as two pieces, along with two keys (maybe three? I know two for sure.) I love it for how subtle and secure it is. It feels like real steel, as in it won't be broken easily. I like to think that in an emergency where I need to break a window, I could use it to easily break the window. All you do is slide the long piece over one of your pedals, and once its secure on it, you put the second piece on the jack, but right below the pedal. Then you use the key to lock it into place. I have never used a steering wheel jack but they always look so bulky and weird, so I'm happy to have an extra piece of security that is also subtle. Hardest part is usually reaching down to place it, but once you get used to the placement it becomes routine. ... show more

Do not get it. I knew that it would be difficult to install on my car, i didnt mind that. For the price i thought I'd give it a try. Yes its very heavy feeling, strong and sturdy. This did fit over brake pedal but no matter how tight i got it on, it could easily be moved out of the way. So i thought i would use it as way to give any potential thiefs more to think about, make them search for a target not as tasking. I was using this brake pedal in conjunction with steering wheel lock. Until..... One day as I'm getting ready to go work i start to unlock the brake pedal but pin the goes between the holes got stuck. I have no idea why this happened. It was unlocked for sure because the pin would come out of one whole but it was really stuck on the second. It took me over 40mins of wrestling this lock off the brake pedal. I have no idea what happened but i cannot risk ot getting stuck again. It does not work to begin with which i had accepted but for it to become stuck while you need to get somewhere, not worth the hassle. Avoid this. ... show more

This did not fit over my accelerator pedal bar (just as an FYI), and when used over my brake pedal bar (which this lock was set in place correctly), I could still move the pedal to some degree, enough that you could still brake enough to drive the vehicle. When in place, this lock mount can still be moved forward or backward. It's better than nothing, but not as secure as I'd hoped. It's very sturdy, and solid, and might work for certain vehicles, but not very well for my my '01 Ram. ... show more

The machining isn't amazing for the keyhole or the locking pin. But it's cheap and works great for stopping anyone from easily pushing the pedal down. Imagine having 2 or 3 of these while an alarm is going off and your thief probably wont wanna stick around. Fits 2001 dodge ram and would probably fit most cars as it's pretty thick. Make sure to find the right adjustment so that no matter where the thief might move the lock they still won't be able to push pedal in. ... show more

With the uptick in stolen Hyundai and Kia vehicles, I figured this would be a good thing to have on top of other deterrent type of products. Long story short, it doesn't fit the 2019 Hyundai Elantra. The way the bars are angled for the brake makes its impossible for the thing to slide onto it and remain grounded and secure. It's curved at an angle, this device seems more fitting for brake pedals that are held up by a straight metal bar not anything curved. ... show more
