  • 1st Review, Works Great
Size: One receiver plus one transmitter
Lots of chatter about wifi interference with today's digital mix interfaces. When I walk by my mixers router there is a tremendous audible fluttering and interference. That being said, I use them alone, in pairs, and in pairs with a couple of RF iem units and they work fine. Doesn't seem to be any latency issues or discernable differences between the types of monitors. ... show more

  • Acceptable for small venues and rehearsals
Size: One receiver plus one transmitter
I purchased the XVive In-Ear Monitor Wireless System because at my church, we moved to the Allen Heath ME500 Person Mixers for monitoring during live performances and removed most of the wedges to reduce clutter. Since I move around too much for wired in ear monitoring, I needed a reliable wireless solution. I selected the XVive because of the price point and some positive reviews right here on Amazon. What I found was an acceptable solution, not a perfect solution. The kit comes with a transmitter with an XLR input connector as well as an XLR to 1/4 inch phone plug adapter; the adapter was needed to interface with the Allen Heath ME500. It also includes a receiver that accepts 1/8 in phone plugs for earbuds and has a fairly tight belt clip. In other words, it is not a completely wireless earpiece but removes the tethering. The system provides the ability to manually select up to six different channels as well as input signal level selection on the transmitter and a volume control on the receiver. Also included is a single USB charging cable that is bifurcated so it can charge both transmitter and receiver simultaneously. The upside to the system is that with the correct channel selected and both transmitter and receiver fully charged, I get a good in-ear monitoring performance for the duration of a church service with no noticeable latency. I am able to adjust the volume in an instant using a single finger to roll the control. The down side is that there might be interference in some of the channels due to other devices such as cell phones competing on the same frequency. Selecting a channel is easy enough once you get used to how long to hold the channel selector button on both the transmitter and reciever, but that process needs to be done while you are positioned next to the transmitter and receiver. This can be inconvenient if during the course of a performance, the need to select a different channel is required and you are not adjacent to the transmitter. Having gotten used to very high quality wireless system for microphones and other musical instruments, this is a definite challenge as the more advanced (and expensive) systems automatically detect interference and change channels as required. Since the system specifications are for a maximum of 5 hours of battery life, I found it imperative to fully charge the system before every service. I did find that 30 feet was about the limit the transmitter and receiver could be separated during a performance. At that distance, there was a likelihood of dropout after about two hours of use. My assumption is that this is because the batteries lose their ability to deliver constant power over time as the battery is drained. Considering the few quirks of the system and this particular use case, this product was worth the price. If I were to require in-ear monitoring in a large venue with other competing wireless systems of the same or type or in the same frequency band, this would probably not cut it. ... show more

  • A MUST-HAVE for any stage performer
Size: One receiver plus one transmitter
It's smaller than it looks in the pictures. No lattency, very powerful and long range. I've used it on many different performances for the last 3 months and it's going strong

  • Better Than Expected
Size: One receiver plus one transmitter
As a church musician, I've used several brands of in-ear monitor systems, including Behringer and Aviom systems. I was skeptical about these since they are wireless and feared lag, cutouts, noise, etc. But they perform surprisingly well for a small church. Granted, I wouldn't use them as a replacement for any of the above mentioned systems, but for a small church on a budget that doesn't want to run permanent wiring, they work better than expected. One of the units does cut out fairly often, and we are returning that one, but the rest seem fine. The channel selector switch is easy to accidentally tap with a guitar or hand, so keep it out of the way. Also needs an XLR angle adapter if you don't have much space behind your soundboard. ... show more

  • Easy to use and sounds great!
Size: One receiver plus one transmitter
I used this for a gig the day after I got it. It was extremely easy to set up. There were five other wireless devices connected to the board and I had no interface. I did not test the distance but I never lost signal on stage. There was plenty of battery life left after playing for two hours. I'd recommend it! ... show more

  • Some sound advice
Size: One receiver plus one transmitter
I’ve purchased these right before covid shut down and didn’t really get to use them until 6 months ago. If I had the transmitter plugged into the board I’d get all kinds of interference. What I do now is run an CLR out of the board to the transmitter and set it behind me on stage. It’s been great since then. No more interference and a great buy for the money! ... show more

  • Good while it lasted. UPDATED!
Size: One receiver plus one transmitter
Worked great for 6 months. Then the receiver stopped taking a charge. Very dissatisfied but I guess you get what you pay for. Seller contacted me and sent me a replacement receiver at no charge. My biggest gripe is that amazon provides no way to reach out directly to 3rd party sellers who have stores. ... show more
