  • Great Post Hole Digger
This thing has all the power your electric supplier can dish out. I dug 5 post holes in about 5 mins. I was originally dreading starting on my new deck, putting off the digging and concrete work but the Xtremepower Pro-Series post hole digger made this job easy and kind of fun. The one thing you have to know is LET GO OF THE BUTTON, if the thing starts to twist on you. If you catch a rock or a big root, it will start to twist in your hands, like any auger will. Let go of it. ... show more

  • It's powerful. Video shows maybe too powerful
The media could not be loaded. My video show how this digger will power right through very tough clay soil, until it hits a root or sprinkler pipe. Then the power will go straight to your wrists. (this demo actually left my wrist pretty sore for a while) You can reduce your chance of injury pressing the power button on-off-on-off and not let the machine get to full speed-Like I'm doing early in the video. Also, hold your left hand further out-Like I'm doing at the end of the video. So your wrist has some room to kick back if the blade hits something. It's light, powerful and great in tight spaces. Just be ready for the kick back. ... show more

  • If S. Texas freezes over, I can go ice fishing cause I can't dig any post holes
I have very rocky soil, I live over a ancient volcano, I can't get about a foot through volcanic ash turned rock. Basically Very soft rocks, mixed with various sizes mostly small hard rocks. Then I hit a Vien of potato sized hard rocks. Which makes this tool lock up cause I'm 260lbs and holding it well or spin out of my hands. In a test hole I Tried for 20 minutes in hopes the rock would just chip apart with no luck Pros tool hasn't broken under maximum load, expect to go fast under other conditions. The highest amp 110vac post hole digger on Amazon Cons tool doesn't seem to handle potato sized rocks, even digging several holes next to each other, no larger electric auger option available, even though house outlets are rated to be able to handle a larger motor ... show more

  • Makes Quick Work of Fence Post Holes
Let me be clear, these post-hole diggers are dangerous whether electric or gas-powered. There is a learning curve to using this tool. Youtube is very helpful for this. The torque is very powerful and if you are careless will yank your arms out of their sockets. It is helpful to slowly work the auger down in the soil in an up and down motion and be quick to release the trigger when the unit binds from hitting a rock or soil transition. Needing to repair several fences, this powered auger has saved me a lot of time and with an extension, allows me to drill down 36" to place an 8-foot post. It appears to be simple and built well. I expect many years of use out of this tool. ... show more

  • 6" Post hole digger
This is an electric post hole digger that comes with a 6" auger. Although the auger can be swapped out, it is not recommended (according to the instruction manual) to use anything larger than a 6" auger. You will need to supply the extension cord for this unit. If you are not looking to dig holes larger than 6", this post hole digger should take care of your needs and I recommend going with this unit. ... show more

  • Works!
I am 70 and in good health but have some shoulder issues so starting a pull start engine is very difficult. I chose this after reading reviews. I had to dig four simple post holes to replace a section of chain link posts and fencing in our yard after a very wet Monsoon season here in Tucson. The fencing company wanted an incredible amount for 4 post holes. I have used this to dig the four post holes and it worked well. I am now using it to dig holes to plant roses and a bougainvillea! I recommend this unit. ... show more

  • Good tool
Good tool would have been better if it had a reverse when it get stuck on roots

  • Worked great, I had to drill 20 fence poles holes in clay.
I was worried that drilling the holes in clay would be a challenge but didn't have any problems. Watch out when hitting a rock or roots it will rip it out of your hand!
