  • So far so good
Style: Electric Circular Saw
The media could not be loaded. Based on previous reviews, I've decided to give it a try. The machine really does the work flawlessly without any hesitation. No vibrations, wobbling or lack of power. Just be prepared that it may trigger the circuit breaker to cut off the power if you don't take breaks to let the wire to cool of. The high amperage demands lot of electricity juice which justifies the good performance. The wheels on the bottom help tremendously to push it forward, good handle and well placed mud flapper. It has been worth it every single dime spent. Only time will tell if it is strong enough to take the hit and toughness of construction work in the years to come. ... show more

  • It's fairly cheap and it works...however...
I purchased this to cut some pavement on my patio after a couple of homeadvisor.com contractors blew me off ('nother story entirely...). Pairing it with a Bosch 14" diamond saw blade, it made the cuts fairly easily. But there are a few caveats: (1) The water hose and attachments do not come with hose clips, so the hoses will slip off in use. A quick trip to your local hardware store will cure it, but these should have been included (we're talking less than a buck to add five small hose clips to the package). (2) The black plastic hose attachment is a press-on fitting for what looks like 1/2-inch hose. I initially thought it was a garden hose fitting (which would have made more sense). Had to purchase a short utility hose and some sealing tape, cut the end off, press-fit it, and tape it to make a good connection. Not intuitive and again, another trip to the hardware store. (3) The blade visual indexing is severely lacking; you can (barely) see the front index mark but there is no rear index mark, so trying to maintain a straight cut can be a challenge. (4) Even when set up for 90-degree cuts, the unit tilts a couple of degrees, so your cuts are always off a little bit. If you need absolute 90-degree cuts, you may want to look elsewhere. (5) Instructions read like they were written by a subject matter expert whose first language was not English (surprise). I'm a technical writer. These should have been better. Particularly when the device being described will traumatically amputate body parts in a split second. (6) This thing will sag (brown-out) whatever household electrical circuit it's on, so you'll need to ensure it's isolated on a 20A breaker. Otherwise, your significant other may not be happy (I put it on the garage circuit...). Overall, the XtremepowerUS Concrete Saw works okay. It won't power through concrete like its larger gas-powered commercial cousins, but with a little patience and some proper setup, it will get the job done. The jury is out on longevity. I have quite a bit of pavement to cut out, so it should be a good litmus test for whether it will last. Potential buyers just need to be aware of the above issues, so you'll be prepared to re-engineer things a bit to get it working properly. Recommended, but YMMV. ... show more

  • For personal use it was great
Style: Mini Circular Saw
I don't think I would use this for professional use on a daily basis, but for a personal wall project it was great. I used a 20 amp circuit and never had an issue. I used it without the water fitting, but if I did it again, I would use the fitting in order to cut down the dust. I only needed to cut a limited number of concrete retaining wall blocks and had no problem doing so. It was easy to assemble and use. It did clean cuts with the blade that I also purchased. It was much better than renting for me. I did have to cut fairly slowly, since it is electric and not gas powered. Slowly was still a pretty fast cut through through the four or four and a half inch (typically) block. ... show more

  • UPDATE
Style: Electric Circular Saw
When fully adjusting the depth plate to cut maximum depth the water line, supply to both sides of blade cover, interfere depth guide adjustment arm and the blade guard cover is forced to tilt in a way that brings the bolt (attaching the depth guide and adjustment arm) get too close to the blade; that design fault could eventually ruin the waterline and worse that could happen is if the blade and mentioned bolt rub together while saw is in use. If the bolt is reversed in installation insertion entry, in contrary to its delivered pre-assembled state, the bolt would be farther away ftom the blade and should be safer. The blade can only extend 5 and a half inches from the blade guide. The blade is hard to install and harder to remove due to lack of enough clearance. The manual that was delivered with the saw is basically useless; it lacks clear pictures, assembly illustration, and it mentions lots of nonsense. No way to be sure how to ptoperly install the blade including the washers. I purchased a blade from the same company, both saw and blade from same manufacturer. Blade shows indication arrows, blade arrow turn indicator on one side is the complete opposite of the other side in relation to the blade teeth aggresiveness design. Will update after checking a replacement from Amazon. UPDATE: I also returned the replacement because of lack of availability of the missing parts and Amazon refused to try another replacement. Replacement arrived after 2 weeks, with manufacturer's box, no outer Amazon box. Bolts to attach the depth of cut guide plate are missing. Very poorly located packaging of some of the parts to be assembled; a slightly torn seam taping appeared to also caused a small tear of the small plastic bag that contained some smaller parts. The small plastic bag is positioned immediately just inside the taped middle seam of the manufacture's box. Note: I was trying to hold the initial purchase until I received the replacement but I was notified that the replacement will not be sent until it has received back the defective saw. I could have tried and get the same saw for a third time with 20% increased cost but I opted for another brand for quicker delivery. ... show more

  • Powerful tool!
Style: Electric Circular Saw
This saw cuts! Must plug into a 2.0 amp circuit. Used it to cut through a slab in prep for a curbless shower. Great value for the money. Cheaper than HF!

  • BEWARE! Does not come with a blade or manual.
Style: Mini Circular Saw
I personally never bought a saw without it not coming with a blade! Times have changed. It is heavy. Cut concrete block okay, but asphalt was below expectations, you need to baby the saw otherwise it will pop the fuse! Depth gauge was bent slightly but fixable. No manual included.
