This saw is nice and compact and very powerful. I love the four-way chuck. This is replacing my old corded recip, and it had that feature, and the side blade release. It does seem to vibrate a lot more than any of my other recip saws, but we'll see, I just got it! I think my 8 Ah, or maybe the 5 Ah Power Stack will be the battery I use. ... show more

    • Good Compact Design and Power. But What’s With All the Vibration

Really liked the compact design, and the 4-way blade orientation really came in handy (used regular direction to cut through most of a 104 year old 2" cast iron drain pipe. Then reoriented blade sideways to finish cut in tight space). To cut cast iron, used slow to medium speed on variable trigger. At near to full speed this saw vibrates something fierce, even with good pressure and using two hands. Thankfully I only had a few cuts to make at a slower speed. If you are needing to make a lot of cuts at the full speed, you will really feel it in your entire arm. I wish you could extend the shoe on this saw like you can on other models. I purchased this one because of brushless motor and its compact size. The grip feels good. It would be awesome if dewalt had a speed dial in conjunction with the variable speed trigger like on my other-brand jigsaw. That and making the shoe extend and retract, rather than just pivoting would really add necessary functionality to this saw. Most valuable tool in your workshop. ( It Must be…. All of my neighbors have borrowed it, then bought their own. !!). No joke: ALL of them!!!! Buy an assortment of blades!!! (And a 5 amp/hr battery)…. And you are good to go!! This is just a superb tool. Lightweight. Powerful. Versatile.
