This sawzall is a beast! I am 60 and weak as a kitten. I cut down 6 skinny trees, cut a tone of roots buried in the dirt and it kicked butt. Better than a chainsaw. I love this thing!

This product is the DeWALT 20V MAX XR Reciprocating Saw. It is part of DeWALT’s line of 20V Max tools and it employs a brushless motor for power and efficiency. The tool can use any of DeWALT’s 20V MAX batteries including the lithium pouch-cell PowerStack batteries and the new 8.0Ah PowerPack battery with the tab-less lithium-ion battery cells. This tool has an LED light built into the front of the tool to illuminate the work area. It has a variable speed trigger switch and motor so that the exact speed needed can be selected by the user. The saw blade has a stroke of 1-⅛ inches and a speed of up to 2,900 strokes per minute. The tool utilizes a quick-change blade capability thanks to the keyless blade clamp. The saw is 14.5” long and is capable of fitting between wall studs that are 16-inches on center. The saw weighs five pounds without a battery attached. I purchased this tool through the Amazon Resale site and it was described as “Looks and functions as if it were new. Moderate packaging damage observed during inspection.” When I received the product, it was repackaged much better that it would have been packaged from the factory. The Amazon Resale folks used expanding foam inside of plastic bags to encapsulate and cushion the tool from damage during transport. The tool itself was in perfect condition when it arrived and the factory-supplied manual in its original zip-lock bag was included. The tool now resides in a custom-fitted polypropylene case and has its own pair of 20V MAX batteries. I am happy to have been able to increase my collection of DeWALT power tools and I am very happy with this particular tool. ... show more

This thing is amazing, enough power to cut through wood like soft butter and easy to operate with one hand. I removed a section of Cedar fence and cut all the pickets and posts in half for disposal and was minimal effort with this saw. Ample power, easy to operate and very easy to install/remove the blades. I have small 2Ah batteries that came with previous sets of tools - these did not last that long - perhaps half an hour each - which was not a problem for me, just changed them out as one set got flat, managed to cut through piles of wood with between battery swap out. If your using this tool a lot would recommend higher capacity batteries. Ordered a set of Dewalt blades from Amazon for about $17 and ended up only using one for this job and it is still in good condition (no paint left on it though). I noticed you can buy scrapers and brushes for reciprocating tools which I think is a great idea and will try. This tool is probably overkill for me but I really like it and would not hesitate to buy. You only get the tool, no bag, battery or blades - this was as expected. This saw is good quality, not too heavy and compact. I needed a second one so two people could work at the same time. HD only had a 20v in stock that’s a bit bigger, so I purchased it. There is a significant difference. The smaller saw (this one) is great but the slightly bigger one cuts much easier with the same blades and 20v battery… so I don’t have to push the blade through as much. If you don’t have much to cut, this one will be fine. If you have a medium/big job, get the bigger saw. ... show more
