  • Would recommend!
Style: Recip Saw Only
This saw is nice and compact and very powerful. I love the four-way chuck. This is replacing my old corded recip, and it had that feature, and the side blade release. It does seem to vibrate a lot more than any of my other recip saws, but we'll see, I just got it! I think my 8 Ah, or maybe the 5 Ah Power Stack will be the battery I use. ... show more

  • Awesome tool - absolutely love this compact saw
Style: Recip Saw Only
Really can’t go wrong with Dewalt XR Max tools. I own a ton of these DeWalt XR Max tools for and use them daily. I love the short base and the ability to flip the blade around in the other direction. Solid performance and solid build quality as your would expect from DeWalt. If you aren’t in a hurry, you can regularly find these on sale which makes them a great value for the money spent, especially compared to another “red M” brand. If you are looking for a tool that ups your home improvement or professional game, this is it. ... show more

  • Great tool, compact, not overly heavy
Style: Recip Saw Only
This thing is a little monster, I mean it has power, a lot of it. More than the large bulky one I had. Easy to hold and use, just make sure you are holding on to it.

  • Very Happy with the DeWALT Brand.
Style: Recip Saw Only
It's a DeWALT! In my opinion , They make the best tools all around. Cordless or corded. This tool is very powerful and the quick blade change is a snap. Back in 1994 When I bought my first house, I went to H.D. and bought some Porta Cable corded Tools. Circular saw, reciprocating saw, and a jig saw. These tools were the best tools that I could have purchased back then. They were all made in the USA! Getting back to DeWALT, You can not go wrong. Some time back I purchased a Half inch DeWALT hammer drill from Amazon. I remember it being a very good deal Price wise. I also remember reading a review about there being rust on the tongs inside the chuck. and how this reviewer thought Amazon was selling a defective batch of these drills at a discount. This is not rust. It is the color of the high strength steel that they use. The power of this drill is unbelievable! I still have my 14.4 volt 1/2 inch Dewalt drill driver. After changing the brushes once, It is still going strong! ... show more

  • Lightweight but makes for light work
Style: Recip Saw Only
Performs well. Good pairing with a 5Ah battery for as many cuts as you’ll want to do in succession.

  • One hand use
Style: Recip Saw Only
Since I'm not out in the field remodeling and renovating any longer I use my older nicad pod style cordless tools to do work around the house and in the yard, I recently purchased an adaptor that converts the old pod style tool so that it uses the new lithium ion batteries. My DeWalt recip saw is 16 years old and this adaptor made it sing like a new tool, but while out trimming limbs it just stopped working. Something is broken inside, not repairable so I had to start looking for a new one on Amazon. After some research on the web I found 2 that I liked and weren't too expensive, I chose the compact recip saw as it is a bit lighter in weight and a few inches shorter than the other traditional style and can be used one handed. It arrived this morning and I took it outside and started using it right away cutting small limbs from a fallen tree branch. Indeed I can use it with one hand, light and powerful with those new batteries, one thing l noticed right away is that the foot that is supposed to pivot is very stiff and hard to move. I will most likely have to put some WD on it to get it loosened up, I also think the price point is too high for a smaller less powerful recip saw. It is 400 RPM's slower and a few ounces lighter than a traditional saw. It fits well in my hand but if it is pushed hard and one is not wearing gloves this saw's handle will leave blisters on the area between the thumb and index finger. The saw performed well through many hours of cutting limbs and pruning out in the hot Texas sun, and all can do is hope it lasts as long as my old one. ... show more

  • Top Notch.
Style: Recip Saw Only
It just what the doctor ordered for me. I am not doing heavy demolition or ripping through cars. Just some light work on limited space. I recently used it to trim down a heavy old fashioned entertainment center stand and it got the job done. Minimal battery usage for what i was doing with it. This is the second time ive used it and i can say it is pretty good. I can obviously offer you no information about durability. If you want a real review go watch youtube's A Concord/ something something's review of a bunch of these guys. This one was pitted against a bunch of fulllsize saws. I can this baby gets the job done. It pulls you through the cuts. It wants to help you with your project. It didn't burn through my battery. It didn't slow down on anything. I believe it has four directions to mount the blade. The variable speed is top notch and very easy to control. The only downside to this is that is does shake your hands a bit. I am not an everyday worker though and i defiinitely notice tool vibration. This one reminded me of old lawnmowers in terms of how my hands felt after i finished. So if you are going to do prolonged or or heavy duty demo, you might want to "step down" to the heavier non-compact, non brushless version or, if you're feeling froggy stop up to what is sure to be a powerhouse, the 60v brushless full size monster. Unrelated to this saw is the three blades i used, and i can say for cutting through wood, the Milwaukee carbide AX is overrated. It cut slower and with much more resistance than the dewalt blades i ordered and certainly the diablo thin kerf blade i ordered. I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it to anyone. ... show more
