I want to start by saying I also have some other brands of small handheld heat presses similar to this, but this one is by far my favorite! The first thing to note, is my first time plugging it in, there was no unpleasant smell. Some of my other heat presses had a weird electrical smell upon heating it the first few times, but not this one. Right away when using it, I can tell you it's super comfortable to hold in your hand and feels substantial and sturdy. The handle stays cool to the touch even when heated for a while, which was very reassuring. You can either hold the handle like normal, or even slip your hand through under the handle to press down with the palm of your hand. Since I only used my press for a few minutes, even the holder stayed a bit cooler than I expected. Obviously I'm not saying to go ahead and touch the holder while your heat press is on it! But after accidentally touching it with the side of my hand, I was very surprised that it wasn't very hot. Although I do think that if keeping it on for a couple of minutes or even keeping it on the higher setting will make it hot, so be careful when picking up the machine so that you don't touch the bottom. I also feel much safer using this over my other brands since it shuts off automatically after just a few minutes, keeping it from overheating. It worked super well and heated my design evenly! In my picture you can see my design is bigger than the heat press, but keeping it moving around still heated everything evenly. This little thing is strong! Definitely worth the price. Also since it took me a minute to find it, the temperatures for each level are found on the second page of the manual.

I cannot begin to describe how thrilled I am with this little heat press! After owning two mini Cricut heat presses and one HTVRONT, I can confidently say that the XTool has surpassed all my expectations. While my experience with the HTVRONT was disappointing due to the frustrating temperature control that often stuck and the uncomfortable design, the XTool has proven to be a game-changer. The HTVRONT only lasted a month, which added to my frustration. As for the Cricut presses, they were reliable as expected, but the XTool brings a new level of efficiency and comfort that I didn’t know I was missing. What really stands out about the XTool is how quickly it heats up, allowing me to dive straight into my projects without the usual waiting around. Its design is not only comfortable to hold but also just slightly larger than the Cricut, which gives me a better grip and more control during use. This little press has become an essential part of my crafting routine, and I genuinely can’t imagine going back to my old tools. I love this neat little press so much that I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone considering a heat press for their projects. Would recommend this little heat press. I've used it for a few months and I've been satisfied with each use. Variable temps and quick heat up. Easy to press small items and so convenient. Base is nice...handle is sturdy, and it's just the right size.

I bought this for smaller hard to press items like hats and small logos on shirts. Heats up quickly and works as advertised. We even used it to bind white laminate to the edge of some shelving that we installed. Instructions called for an iron but the mini press worked great.
