Greatly encourage beginners not comfortable with Wacom’s prices, as well as professionals looking for alternatives, to try this. This can be a stepping stone as much as it can be a long-term tool. I’ve split this review into my 3 favorite qualities, as well as relevant downsides. The pros ended up balancing out the cons in meaningful ways, which is why I intertwined them in this review as opposed to writing a separate list for both. 1. Stand and Bezels I chose the 16 Pro over the 15.6 Pro for two reasons: the stand, and the visual symmetry of the bezels. The stand that’s included with the 16 makes it easier to draw facing the screen, which is what I do! Very secure and easy to use. You can also change the angle of the stand to draw leaning over it if you like. Since it’s removable and compatible with other VESA mounts, you can buy a smaller mount or use an Ergotron to bring it to eye level. As for the bezels, no border is larger than another-- Not even the one with the express keys. I use this as a second monitor and it’s nice to look at something symmetrical. Ultimately, this is an aesthetic preference and does not impact function. Mine did not have any dead pixels, or light bleed, or color aberrations, but it does have a faint, dark halo as you reach the edges of the screen. Very thin, around a quarter of an inch. Took me by surprise, but ultimately does not affect the drawing experience. The features I’ve mentioned, as well as the large color gamut and physical buttons for adjusting the brightness make this a non-problem in my book. 2. Drawing feel My first tablet was a screenless Wacom Bamboo, and my introduction to screen tablets was with the iPad Pro. These two tablets set the bar pretty high as far as tracking, activation force, and parallax. They are also brand names that are often compared to eachother and to XP-Pen, which is why I bring them up. These days, I use a desktop PC or a Surface Pro with XP-Pen tablets. I first bought the XP-Pen Deco 01 to upgrade from the tiny Bamboo which was causing me wrist cramps. Great, reliable tracking, and very little pressure needed to apply faint strokes. Nibs run out fast, as you’ve probably read in other reviews. Silky smooth drawing experience when fresh, usable but a notable difference after 2 weeks or so. Came as a shock to me since I draw light and never replaced the nib on my 10 year old Bamboo tablet. Still worth it in my opinion, and the tablet has no scratches on it despite months of daily use, so the nibs being softer than the surface may be a plus. That’s the experience I expected with the 16 Pro. The stand itself is pretty reliable as is, but the light activation force means its not being jostled around. Great tracking and an option to calibrate in the drivers makes it easy to overcome the parallax. Great color gamut out of the box, also adjustable with the drivers if you feel it’s too cold or warm or need to restrict yourself to 100% sRGB for whatever reason. This is part of the drawing experience for me as the iPad Pro had rich colors, but ultimately oversaturated and unmodifiable. It made me uncomfortable that the colors I was using were not the colors that people on a stream would see, or that I would have to check the colors on different monitors. 3. Surprise portability. I fully understood that the 15.6 Pro was thinner, lighter, was powered by USB instead an AC adaptor, and had little-to-no parallax. They were both in the same price range as well. This makes it extremely portable and a meaningful improvement in their display tablet line, which I respect. Since I have a Surface Pro, I was not too concerned with bringing this tablet outside of the house. I’m barely 5 feet tall and have to walk plenty to catch different buses for my commute, so I have to pack light and smart. The Surface only has one USB port too, so you're going to need an outlet anyway if you want to use the 15.6 Pro and the Surface (though you could use a portable battery!) That being said… I could fit it in my backpack, stand and all. I have a Mancro backpack intended for 17 inch laptops. It’s durable, large, and water resistant, while having a thin profile. Very nice if you’re a short person who has to commute with lunch, notebooks, and a bunch of tech. I wrapped the monitor in a felt blanket and fit it in the large compartment, with the screen pressing against my back. I put the Surface Pro in a separate bag, but it could still fit in with the 16 Pro. Just gives me peace of mind to have them separate. The 16 Pro is relatively light, and I was confident that I would not damage the screen with the way I packed it. This made my commute with the tablet comfortable, and something I am willing to do regularly if it means getting the productivity boost of using a reliable, large, secondary screen tablet for class. However, as I mentioned before, the 15.6 Pro is more portable. You don’t have to worry about a power outlet on the wall since you can connect it to a laptop’s USB port, and have a stand that adds a considerable depth to it. It is also a newer model, with little to no parallax… so! All things to keep in mind. For me, that stand is a complete dealbreaker. Really love it and helps my workflow immensely. But if this is not something super important for you, and you really want to bring this tablet to cafes and school easily, check out that 15.6 Pro! ... show more

Nice upgrade from my old Wacom so far! (Windows 10 PC)
As a long time Intuos user, I've always wanted to upgrade to a cintiq, but have always shied away due to the price. Though I work in graphics and design professionally, my illustration and animation is mostly a hobby and I couldn't justify spending that much when my trusty old Intuos from the early 2000s was (and honestly, still is) running just fine. I started seeing lots of reviews and demos of the main Cintiq competitors out there, and decided to give them a shot. After a period of research, I finally to the plunged during a lightning sale and grabbed the XP-PEN Artist16 Pro. So far, I'm very happy with my choice! The Pros: When I unboxed it, I immediately felt regret about not getting the larger 22in XP-Pen tablet, but after using it for awhile that regret vanished. The size is just right for my desk, and honestly it has plenty of room to draw. The screen is quite nice, the pen is responsive, and line quality and pressure are good. Both pens charged quickly (more on the pens later) and you can draw while it's charging... although the pen cord is quite short. There is definitely parallax (disconnect between the place you touch on the screen, and the actually cursor location below the glass), but I don't really find it to be a problem at all. The stand is nice and easy to use, but if you want the tablet flat to the table, you'll have to take it off. I haven't tried, as the stand is fine for me. The over all build is fine, feeling fairly solid... but I wouldn't want to drop it. The screen itself has good resolution and color, and the matte feel is good. Maybe that's personal preference, but it gives a little bit of a "paper" feel. I should also mention that XP-Pen customer service has been great. I had one problem (see the Cons below), but they quickly remedied the issue. So in some ways, that Con is now a Pro. The "OK": The tablet doesn't come with a CD of drivers. That's actually probably a good thing, as may reviews have noted that they are updated quite regularly, so the CD drivers would often fail. I uninstalled my Wacom drivers first, and the downloaded the latest drivers for XP-Pen, and everything went smoothly. One note, my video card has 3 ports, but doesn't support 3 displays. I was hoping I could leave all 3 plugged in and turn one off, but that is not the case. I need to fully unplug the 2nd monitor from my video card or the tablet will not be recognized. To connect the tablet, there are 3 cords: A power cord and adapter, a USB cable, and a HDMI cable. I don't have HDMI on my PC, but a cheap converter worked just fine. This is a lot of cords, which is annoying. A Huion tablet that I was looking at has a single proprietary cord with 3 prongs, which seems better in theory. However, one review that I checked out had a serious issue that I never considered. If any one part of that 3 pronged cord failed, you needed to replace the whole thing. (For $50! She got one free, but after that she was on her own.) Different ends failed each time, and she went through 4 cords. With that in mind, having 3 easier to replace cords may actually be a plus. The Cons: First of all, I should note that my biggest worry is longevity. My Wacom Intuos has lasted 15+ years and is still great. I do wonder if this product will be as good. This is all paranoia with no actual bad experience yet, so feel free to disregard this comment. Second, when it comes to the pens, many have noted that this tablet eats nibs. After a week or two of usage, my nib is already showing serious wear. The tablet comes with 2 nibs in place, and 8 replacement nibs. I'd recommend stocking up on some extras at the rate of wear that I'm seeing. Third, the tablet comes with 2 pens, one in a holding tube with extra nibs, the other loose. That's a good thing! Right? Well, the extra pen had a problem... it came with the default nib appearing as if it was hammered into place. It was jammed WAY in there. I couldn't get it out with the standard nib remover. I was able to get it out by gently using a pair of pliers. Alas, the damage was done. That pen was in perminent "on" mode. Even without a nib in place, it would immediately start drawing when it was near the tablet. (Not even touching) It surprisingly still had some pressure sensitivity, but was ultimately unusable. BUT!!! Looping back to my pros, I emailed the customer support listed in the paper booklet that came with the tablet. They were fast, courteous, and quickly sent me a brand-new pen with extra nibs! They are definitely emailing from Asia, so if you are in the Americas, expect to get email replies late at night. All and all, the customer service was A+ for me. In conclusion, I'd recommend this tablet based on my early experiences with it. Here's hoping it performs this well for years to come! ... show more

Zis tablette is Gigantique!

It’s huge. It works brilliantly, and the color displays super well. For the money, I might have gotten a smaller 4k model but this is great. No input lag. The surface feels good to draw on and doesn’t cause that visual blur or rainbow looking effect that some other textured glass surfaces I’ve used do. I only wish the cords included were longer- they’re pretty short for my setup and I have to move things around to accommodate it. ... show more

Works quite well

Upgraded from a Huion 24, and had a Cintiq before that. Have had this for about a week now. Works well right out of the box. This thing is a behemoth, so make sure you have more than enough table space. Pros: Great size if you prefer to work huge. Surprisingly light. Doesn't get very hot. Most if not all accessories you need come with it. Color accuracy is great as far as my untrained eye can see. Half the price of a Wacom. XPPen and Xencelabs are sister companies, so you also get some higher build quality from Xencelabs Cons: Touch is spotty. Tilt is a little too sensitive for my liking. I personally don't use the touch features and just turned tilt off entirely. These are fixable issues for me so they aren't reflected on review score Amazon shipped this as-is, in full Xp-Pen packaging saying exactly what it is, without an extra box to protect it or cover up that it's an expensive item. If you have the monitor stay on a static image for a few minute, that image is burned in on the screen. It does go away by itself after a few minutes but it does not give me confidence for the screens longevity. This only became an issue after a few months of use, so you won't notice this at the start. Update: Contacted Xp-Pen and it was a hardware issue. Worked with their customer service and was able to get a replacement! I used the new monitor's box to return the defective product (shipping paid by xp-pen) and so far the new monitor is showing no issues at all! Went from a 3-start to 5 star with the new replacement and phenomenal customer service! 2nd Update: Image burn on new replacement monitor from XP-Pen - Sent an email for support to XP-Pen, waiting response. 3rd Update Customer support has been phenomenal the entire time during this process. I want to give them a 5 stars, but as this is the 3rd monitor now after 2 consecutive defective products, I cannot give them the 5 stars that they should deserve. Im hoping this one will actually last and not show image burning as the previous two. To XP-Customer service team thank you so much! 4th Update The 3rd monitor is now showing image burning issues again (After 1.5 months of daily use). At this point, I think its a hardware issue and I will be having to deal with this the entire time. Which is a damn shame. The monitor is very responsive, feels great to draw, but the consistent image burn is VERY annoying. At this point, I am just going to contact support and let them know after 3 different monitors, the issue has not been resolved. I really hope they update the monitors to have less of a image ghosting issue. Even with their phenomenal customer support, the issue cannot be resolved until their hardware is fixed. This monitor deserves a 5-star, but at its current state of consistent image ghosting, I cannot give them what they rightfully should have :( 5th Update - And hopefully the last! After getting in contact with the customer support team, they notified me that units that were shipped before March 20th from a FBA warehouses had residual image defects (the image ghosting issues). XP Pen did recall and repair the affected inventory but some fell through the cracks, and I just happened to receive them all for my first and the replacements one after the other three times in a row (they were all different, they all had different serial #). They acknowledged their mistake and took full responsibility. So for the 4th monitor, it was shipped directly from their US office and had a team to personally verify the unit to be defect free. They also threw in a complementary XP Pen Cable management bag for free! For their outstanding customer support, they fully deserve the 5 stars! Any company that upholds their warranties and take accountability for their oversight deserves all the best, success and respect from their customer base. For anyone who did buy the monitor before March 20th, I would check and be sure that it is a non-defective product, if it is, reach out to their CS team and they will make it right. Hopefully this 4th monitor will be defective free and serve me well until their next pro series upgrade! 6th Update The screen burn returned after a month of daily use... As a digital artist and photographer, this is unacceptable and I am finding their lack of quality control for this monitor to be extremely subpar. The price is great and the pen feels great! But it is becoming a hassle to contact their support and having to get a new monitor every time this issue arises... 7th update. I am now on my 5th monitor after contacting support. Their support is great, but I will not change my review score as it took too many attempts to get something as image burning fixed... I personally see myself moving to a different company after their lack of QC on their flagship monitor. 8th and final update 5 monitors. All had the same image burn issues. CS was nice enough to offer a full refund and that is what I went with. Honestly, shout out to the customer support and my representative. Wish I was using this, but the consistent image burn has made me consider to never go with another XP Pen drawing monitor ever again. ... show more

So worth it

This tablet is absolutely fantastic. It exceeds my expectations. The build quality feels sturdy. I was initially unsure about the stand it came with, but it turned out to be very practical and straightforward if you have enough desk space. The remote included is also better than I expected and easy to program with various hotkeys. I seriously wish I had bought this sooner. A Good Tablet for an upgrade

So I bought the tablet here with the protection plan then the official site since it was sold out there. Came here before the expected date and in good condition. The tablet is amazing however, unfortunately the one I received had malfunction of the pens disconnecting randomly so I had contacted XP pen technology and they were super cooperative and nice about the inconvenience. Make you you test heavily before return window

Disappointed once we started diving into performance more heavily. My wife uses this item for professional level graphic design on a new model Mac Studio. It seemed fine at first compared to her old Wacom tablet. As months go by there are constant disconnects via the XPPen app stalling and crashing. Wish we would have been able to see this while within the return window and, unfortunately, XPPen completely refused to make a return exception soon after it. This is their right to do but I wanted to make sure to warn others to test it heavily before the return window is done or just stick with Wacom altogether ... show more
