Description
This ground anchor kit allows you to safely anchor your metal frame play set into the ground, without concrete, for greater stability and durability. Includes ease of assembly instructions, four 10 inch long auger style anchors and all supporting hardware. I actually used these tiedowns to secure my hammocks not a swing set. It took a bit of tweaking, but they kind of held up through several bad storms (very windy and up drafts). So they did their job, partly. The reason for the 4 stars is that a few of the straps broke in the storms. But I bought some strapping from a hardware store and that fixed it up. They were very durable as I said several storms. So definitely a good buy.

Worked Well for my Needs

This set is designed to be used with the round metal style swing set legs. I actually needed something to secure a small wooden playscape and thought I would give this a try. It really worked out well. The metal straps and chains were easy to manipulate to conform to the square wooded legs and this anchor set had the flexibility to allow me to adjust things as needed. We have very hard and rocky soil in our yard but the anchors went into the ground surprisingly easy and are holding very tightly in the ground. I want to acknowledge that I am using this anchor set differently than what is recommended by the manufacturer and I am not suggesting you do the same. If you do, it is at your own risk.' That said, I think this anchor set is reasonably priced and was an excellent choice for my needs.,

These are not thick enough!

I purchased these to secure my son's swing set to the ground. I live in Virginia, ground is what I would consider to be average, not really rocky, maybe hard clay towards the bottom of where these stakes would hit. I had seen the reviews where people are breaking off hooks and thought maybe it's some installation error. NOPE. I have dog tethers that are larger than this and go into the ground without issue. The first one of these I put into the ground, BENT as I was turning it to where the hook faced 180 degrees from its original position. I finished that hole with a different stake, then put the first one back into the ground. For the remaining holes, I dumped water on the locations and partially dug them out with a screwdriver to make the stakes go in easier. These will probably hold your yard equipment to the ground once install, but be careful installing them. They twist and break easily, and could stand to be a millimeter thicker.

Sturdy brackets and anchor coils

Worked great for its intended purpose. I took our old swing set metal frame and painted it. Then we attached a spider swing to it. I ordered these to secure the swing to the ground, they do a good job. I would recommend to anyone installing these to a metal frame like we have (sort of wobbly) to attach 2 legs first (one side) and then have your kid get on the swing set and swing a few times. That will help to do before the 3rd leg and then the 4th leg. This way you don’t have to reposition them after the set has been used the first time and “settles” so to speak. That would have saved me some time because I had to redo the 3rd and 4th leg after they got on the swing, it could be due to the unevenness of our lawn too. Since doing that, they have stayed in the lawn well and no more adjustments were needed.
