  • The verdict from an 11 year-old
My 11 year old son got this as a gift after asking for it for years. This is his review, as dictated to me: "I love it. The best experience in gaming that I've ever had. And trust me, I've gamed for a while. The Xbox 360 is an elite gaming platform, better than the PS3 by far. My reasoning is: The controller is very durable and I have dropped it about ten times and it hasn't even scratched up. 4 gb is enough if you're saving 4 tournaments in sports games. My dad bought the 16gb usb flash drive, which adds plenty of space and is probably all you need if you're not constantly saving games or going on Xbox live. Peggle is a fun adventure game, but does not appeal much to kids my age who like sports games more. This version of the Xbox looks somewhat like the Xbox One console, it has vents on top and bottom to provide maximum and clear sound. I think it is as good as the Xbox One; the difference i just that Xbox One is a lot more high def. This is still hi def though. This console is groundbreaking and has completely changed the gaming world. I've waited years for this, and if you have too, you'll love it." His father adds: this 4gb version seems plenty for the needs of a child, compared to more expensive versions with more memory. Buying the usb stick to add 16gb seems sufficient for now, and you can also buy 50gb or so as external memory relatively cheaply. ... show more

  • Great console bundle!
When our old Xbox 360 gave us the "red ring of death" I saved it a few times -- but it was inevitable. The system was dead and we had a bunch of fun games that my kids play on a regular basis. After doing some research, this was the best price. I purchased the 4GB Peggle bundle that included a download code for the Peggle 2 game that we downloaded onto our console. It took up a bunch of space and since no one played it much, we quickly deleted it. 4GB isn't a whole lot of space, but since we don't save a lot of things to our console, this was perfect for my kids. It also came with a wireless remote, which is nice to have when my husband or I join in (the kids play it so much that they use the wired remotes from our previous system -- which are fully compatible with this new console)! Love that it's slim and sleek! Great price and tons of fun has already been had in our household! ... show more

  • this system is the perfect fit for our needs
My 6 year old has been wanting one for a long time now and I have been apprehensive. After knowing more about the product, I realized that there are a lot of educational and active games she can use this with. However, I didn't want to spend almost $200 not including the games, extra controller. So bottom line is, this system is the perfect fit for our needs... for the meantime. I say for the meantime because I know I will eventually expand the memory. For now though, it is perfect for my kid to play Minecraft and Just Dance with (I bought a pre-owned Kinect with 2 year warranty from Gamestop). So, if you're looking for an ENTRY LEVEL game console and is on a budget, well this is it. The Peggle game is not on a disc, it is for download and I am still unsure if I will. At least that will save us some storage for now. The controller is smooth and comes with batteries. The console itself is a little thick but I don't mind. The sound of the fan can be heard and for a few seconds there was a weird "new" smell which went away eventually. There is no word per word instructions on how to install but everything is pretty much self explanatory. My box said it should come with a head piece but there wasn't any. Important note though, you need to buy a HDMI cord separately if you want it on your flat screen. ... show more

  • Great System, Garbage UI
I have a Playstation 3 and a backlog of games that I want to finish before I buy a PS4 or an Xbox One, but I could not resist the beckon call of the Gears of War series. So I got this Xbox 360 just for that. As a bonus, I was able to buy Portal: Still Alive on the Xbox Arcade (only Portal 2 is on PS3). Anyway, I played through Gears of War and the Xbox 360 performed great. Everyone says to put in an open space with plenty of air circulation, but I have mine sitting in an enclosed TV stand. I experienced no heat-related problems. In fact, after 3-4 hours of playing Gears of War, the air around the console in my TV stand was warm, but not too much. I don't typically play for more than 2 hours at a time, so I'm fine with how it's handling everything. And I don't anticipate having this system for more than 2 years at the most. Hopefully in that time there will be no major heat-related failures. It doesn't appear to be generating enough heat to warrant any concern. I mention this because it appears that better heat control is a major improvement over previous models. The only thing I don't like about the Xbox 360 is the user interface. Both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 have pretty crappy UIs, but the 360's is just slightly worse. ... show more

  • Great Product & Personal Unboxing Video!
he product was being shipped from the states to Canada for me, so I was expecting a bit of delay. The device came within a week of shipping. If you live outside of the United States, and you get this shipped to Canada, there is an import fee that will apply, so in total the product will cost around 200 US$. The console comes with one controller, the AV cables, the power brick, the Peggle 2 game, and 2 months of Xbox Live (one from this promotion and another from Microsoft that comes with every console). There is no headset that comes with this addition. The Peggle 2 game is only 820MB so you will still have almost 3GB left on your console after installing the game. Very pleased with the customer service, and the product itself. Its significantly quieter than the older models like the Pro and Elite. For an unboxing of this console, please watch my YouTube video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1UtVtF6_aU If you have any questions about my experience from watching the video, leave me a comment! It’s a perfect price for a perfect system. ... show more

  • Cheap entry into Xbox 360, but be ready to upgrade it's storage.
Best way to get an Xbox360 now! I paid $125 on Christmas special, plugged in a 64 Gig USB stick on the back and have plenty of storage for the games I want to play. Who needs a large hard drive if you go about it the right way? Got it to add to our existing Xbox360 in the house for more multiplayer fun! Xbox360 still remains to be the best console on the market right now, more games than any other and so many smaller developer downloadable games make this the go-to device for any and all family members and guests. (we also have PS3, PS4 and Xbox One's around, but the Xbox 360 remains everyone's favorite) Plus it's so much better for streaming video services, we don't every touch our other streaming devices because they are so slow! OK, had to finally break down and get the 500GB drive expansion for this xbox. But I ended up using much more than I expected. ... show more

  • It is a great gaming console
Well, what is there to say about the xbox 360? It has been around for many years and although I have upgraded to the xbox one, I still have an xbox 360. It is a great gaming console, very large library of games and with xbox live you get 2 free full games each month to download and play. I would recommend buying a larger hardrive in order to store your games you download for free each month as they will take up at least 5 to 7 gb of storage. If you are unable to afford an xbox one right now then the xbox 360 is still a great gaming system and you can buy games at a fraction of the cost. There will not be too many more new games coming out for the 360 platform as microsoft would prefer to have you buy an xbox one, but there are thousands of games already available and more than enough to keep you gaming for a long time. Also when you do upgrade to an xbox one, your xbox live account that is used on the 360 will also work on the xbox one and your gamer score and achievements will transfer over. ... show more

  • JUNK!!!!!
This product is a DUD. We plugged it in and tried to turn it on: we got an error message right away. The processor is not working. Bought this for a birthday gift for a child. I shop early because I like to have things ready. Her birthday is two days AFTER the return date, so we can't return this. But since this is a defective product, we could not have returned it anyway because they only allow 14 days for that. This is the ONLY Amazon purchase I've ever made that was a piece of junk. Oh....and the game isn't even the full game!!! ... show more
