  • Big bang for your buck
Style: Blue 20000 Games
Recently grabbed this Handheld Game Console designed for my teen nepthew and its been a big hit. This console packs a ton of games, offering a wide variety that keeps them entertained for hours. Its obviously a budget version of another console but for the price this thing is pretty dang cool. The design is durable and It's survived a few drops already, showing no signs of wear, which is a relief. The controls are intuitive, making it easy for even younger kids to get the hang of it quickly without constant supervision or help. Battery life is another standout feature. It lasts surprisingly long, minimizing the constant need for recharging, which is great for long car rides or waiting periods. Plus, the compact size means it easily fits in pockets or backpacks, making it the perfect companion for on-the-go entertainment. ... show more

  • Does The Thing
Style: Blue 20000 Games
There's def a learning curve to get comfortable with the native OS. I wouldn't call it intuitive. But once you find a few games it's pretty easy to use. Seems like unit itself is very nice, and the software could use some tinkering. Lots of menus to drill down and get lost. Plus games and game packages can be oddly worded, making your only choice diving in to see what's there. For starters, and to get this off my chest, THERE IS NO MARIO CART! Contrary to the imaging and allusion to, there are no Mario related games period. There are QUITE a few Nintendo, Atari, Sega, etc. But the lions' share games are unheard of. Like maybe we're big outside the US, but prob not. Kind of feel like games that never were. And there are duplicated games, perhaps from different legacy gaming systems, but the touted 20,000 games is a wild exaggeration. Also, some of the popular games have very degraded graphics. Possibly knock offs. Shame because the screen is really nice. But the unit itself is amazing! Feels great. Good button placement and action. Really bright, colorful, and HD screen. Almost worth wiping the OS and installing a better gaming platform. ... show more

  • Great
Style: Blue 20000 Games
Great retro gaming handheld. Handheld comes in a box and included a USB A to USB C cable and small manual. No screen protector is included. Device has two micro SD cards, one being a 128GB that has all the games in it. Lots of games to choose from and there was around 7GB I believe left if you wish to add your own. While great, I do have some nitpicks, mostly with the design of the handheld. Device is big in size and has a large great looking screen. Plastic quality feels mostly great and feels close to lightweight even due to its size. Buttons feel great as well, but are pretty loud. Not a real fan of the button placements for the volume and start/select buttons. Has lots of games, but some big name ones are missing. The Mario and Final Fantasy games are not present. Probably legal issue, especially with Mario, but there are other big Nintendo game so I don’t understand why they were left out. Games all ran line up to PS1. Some games after the PS1 like the Saturn, Dreamcast, PSP, etc may not run smoothly and would require some tweaking with the settings or just won’t run at all. Overall, Powkiddy has released another great retro gaming handheld. Definitely happy to add this to my ever growing collection of retro handheld. ... show more

The console is pretty neat and very compatible, which ever games you would like to download on it can be amazing but when it comes to using an external controller, as my PlayStation five one via Bluetooth. It has difficulties trying to connect to it

  • Tons of games, some buggy, huge learning curve.
Style: Blue 20000 Games
The media could not be loaded. I'm GenX and I miss those games I played growing up so I jumped at the chance to get this baby. I read another review indicate it doesn't come with games, well mine did, tons of games. Navigating the unit is confusing, I had to resort to watching videos online just to get an idea where to start. I learned that you can install your own games too but that will require additional SD cards and extra software on your computer to extract the games from your discs and convert them to the right format that this unit will read. When computers first came out, I was a she geek, I built computers and wired networks. I haven't been in the tech business for over 13 years so I'm not up to date with geeky stuff like this but I can still figure it out with a little research. Unfortunately, for less tech savvy people, this might be a nightmare and seem impossible. Personally, I will stick to the games already installed because I'm too lazy to go through the process of burning my PlayStation discs. I'm more interested in the arcade and Atari games which are already installed so I'm set. I think this would be a great gift for people who enjoy retro games and who currently spend a lot of time gaming. If you're looking for something to keep you entertained to simply pass your time, I say stick to your phone games, they're much better graphics anyway. So, here's what I've found with this unit and this is coming from a normal person who doesn't spend a lot of time gaming, the amount of configurations and settings available are overwhelming for me. Some of the games take a long time to load. At times the buttons don't seem to work. The graphics are mediocre. Some of the games have various versions, some appear to be knock offs, definitely not the originals and really poor graphics. I was able to connect mine to my network but keep getting an error when I try to update it. All in all, I think it's a nice console to keep you busy if you have the time to learn the basics. It seems to hold the charge for a good amount of gaming time. ... show more
