By now, most people looking at this drone probably know it is a DJI clone. Or the rest of you now you know that it is essentially a DJI mini four pro at a much lower price. That means that it is relatively small, extremely lightweight and user-friendly. From my understanding SkyRover has been licensed by DJI so that they can use some of the same hardware or software that DJI has developed, but put their branding on it; this allows DJI to continue to participate in the US market after the drone bans. One of the great things about this drone is the recent introduction of ten bit SRlog. Prior to this, the Skyrover drones didn’t include any kind of flat color profile, but colorists rejoice now that it has been added (early April 2026). Because it has some of the same hardware is a DJI mini four Pro the images you get from the onboard camera are just incredible. The drone maintains control even in considerable wind, and the remote control almost never drops signal. This lets you focus on the fun of flying and capturing with a drone rather than worrying about range or collisions. Speaking of collisions, this drone has obstacle avoidance sensors in every direction, and one of the unique features of the drone is that you are able to preview what those of obstacle avoidance cameras are seeing in the app. There are too many features packed into this drone to fit them all into a review. I have been extremely happy with my purchase. I would absolutely recommend this drone to anyone looking to get started in aerial photography or videography or - like myself - anyone who recently crashed their DJI and want a more affordable (and arguably more feature rich) alternative to replace it with. I have attached some photos and video that I took with the drone but I think that Amazon will limit me to 720p uploads so dont judge the quality too harshly.

Very nice little drone for the price, it does a lot, the avoidance works great, it bongs when your to close to objects. Has waypoints, poi, steady in high winds, nice pictures. It flys very far and very high, i get scared when I cant see it. But it has tracking maps that are detailed. RTH works on low battery, it takes off and lands by itself. I love it, wish battery would last longer, the only thing I fear is flying it too far and battery running out before it comes back. But tracking where it is detailed to exact address or location, can also have it beep until you find it.

Box came damaged, but the contents were fine. As for the drone, it’s a direct copy of the DJI Mini 4 Pro. I’ve flown both they handle identical. Video and image quality are good. The controller works however, if you have a larger phone it will be a very snug fit. I have an iPhone 17 pro max and the phone holder constantly presses the volume or power button. I ended up buying a larger phone mount that mounts to the existing phone mount. That’s my only real detractor. Great drone for a reasonable price if you don’t want to shell out a few hundred more dollars for the DJI.

I’ve been flying the SKYROVER X1, and honestly, if Amazon allowed it, I’d rate this 10 stars without hesitation. This drone checks every box and then some. The 8K photo quality is incredible—sharp, vibrant, and clean with virtually no noise. The 4K/60fps HDR video looks cinematic, and the Super Night Mode genuinely impressed me with how clear and detailed night shots come out. Day or night, the visuals are top-tier. One of my favorite things is how travel-friendly it is. Being under 249g means no FAA registration or Remote ID in the US, which makes it perfect to toss in a bag and go. Add in the 12-month warranty with a local service team, and that’s real peace of mind. The 360° obstacle sensing is a game changer—especially if you’re newer or flying in tighter spaces. It makes flying feel much more confident and stress-free. The 50,000ft (15KM) transmission range is insane, and the 1080p/60fps live feed stays smooth and stable, even in busy areas. For filming, the features are next level. Smart Spotlight and Dual Tracking lock onto moving subjects like bikes or cars flawlessly, and the vertical shooting mode is perfect for social media—no cropping needed. Just shoot and post. The Fly More Combo is a huge value too. With 3 batteries giving up to 96 minutes of total flight time, I can fly for a long session without constantly stopping to recharge. Setup was easy—just make sure your phone’s WiFi and Bluetooth are on, short-press the power button, then long-press to turn on the remote. I’ve had best results flying in under level 5 winds, where it stays extremely stable. Beware the "cheaper" drones as they are, well...cheap! This drone is the real deal and worth every penny! You will want to go with the Combo package as you will want the extra batteries, charger and case. While you're at it, go ahead and get a landing pad and high end MicroSD card capible of 4K video/8K pictures. I went with the two below: STARTRC landing pad with reversable green/blue and even comes with carrying case and stakes to keep it in place. Gigastone 512Gig V30 microSD card with A2 rating. This handles the 4K video with no problem. Bottom line: this drone feels premium in every way. Image quality, safety features, flight time, and smart filming tools all come together perfectly. 10/10—one of the best drones I’ve owned.

With all the embargo noise surrounding DJI, I was originally planning to buy either a DJI Mavic or a DJI Mini 4 Pro. Then I came across the Skyrover X1. My biggest concern was whether I’d be able to find replacement parts and accessories, but that turned out to be a non-issue. I already own a DJI Avata 2 and a DJI Neo, and I wanted something with a different gimbal system. The Skyrover X1 has not disappointed. After doing my homework online, I found that the X1 performs almost identically to the DJI Mini 4 Pro. The DJI version is a little more polished, but this one holds its own. I’ve had it for over a week now and have put in about 15 hours of flight time. The fixed gimbal (floating fixed gimbal) is the standout feature. It keeps the camera level when filming buildings or subjects, unlike my Avata 2 or Neo, which tend to tilt slightly. This feature alone has taken my photography and video work up a notch. It’s also a lot of fun to fly. Coming from using FPV goggles on the Avata 2, it took a little getting used to flying with a tablet or phone, but now it feels natural. The video quality is sharp, the flight is stable, and the battery life with the Fly More Combo gives me plenty of airtime. The biggest advantage, though, is availability. If the DJI embargo ever goes into full effect, the Skyrover X1 is one of the few drones you’ll still be able to buy and support with parts. That makes it not just a great performer, but also a smart long-term investment. Nov 30, 2025 Update Add-On Review (Follow-Up After Several Weeks of Use) I wanted to follow up on my original review after having a small crash with my Skyrover X1. One of the feet came off, which worried me at first because I’d read a few online reviews saying Skyrover’s customer service was slow or unhelpful. Some reviewers even mentioned having the exact same issue I did. My experience was the complete opposite. I emailed Skyrover support (that’s the only way to reach them), and they responded quickly. We went back and forth a couple of times to troubleshoot, and within two days I had a package with four replacement feet—two for each side of the fold-out landing legs. They didn’t charge me for the parts, which honestly surprised me. No instructions were included, but the fix was easy. Within minutes, I had the drone back together and flying perfectly. I don’t know why other people had trouble, but Skyrover was extremely easy to work with and very responsive. The only thing missing is a way to talk directly with a technician, but their email support handled everything just fine. At this point, I’m even more impressed with the Skyrover X1. It’s become one of my main photography drones. It’s fun to fly, stable, and reliable. I still think it’s a clone of the DJI Mini 4 Pro, but it performs just as well for what I do—and now I know the company stands behind their product too.

I had read most of the reviews and it would seem I was the only one to experience pairing issues. Initially I paired it with an ipad and everything worked as it should. As that setup was a bit bulky I tried pairing it with my Samsung phone and that's when the problem started as it just would not pair. The controller would fly the drone but no screen. I then switched back to the ipad but found that would no longer pair either. Spent the best part of a day with Ai problem solving instructions but to no avail. Ai thought it might be a problem with the board in the controller but I was unable to confirm that. I then contacted Amazon via chat asking for an exchange as that was not showing as an option on the return screen. Was told they would notify seller who would respond within 48 hours. However, they never did so I notified chat of that but never heard back. As I was running close to end of return window I initiated a return which was approved and Amazon received it 7 days ago but my refund will take a further 7 days according to their website. I had intended reordering but after all this am having second thoughts and will look at other alternatives. On the plus side, when it was working the photo it took was amazing considering the size of the lens. Am adding to review above as my refund was approved yesterday and today they have raised the price by nearly $100. That would explain why they wanted it returned and not replaced. Have also lowered the rating to 1 star. Bottom line is if you buy then once the amazon return window closes you are on your own as I never found a way of speaking to seller and its obvious that Amazon didn't either!

We all know, or should know, who's drone design this is. I own one of the original, so very familiar with this drone and it's capabilities. While I've not gone 100% through every feature yet, mainly because I usually don't use every feature of the original, much less of this one, I have run into some negatives that just don't affect me, and likely most others. But, one negative that does affect me. Yes, this is a clone of the DJI Mini 4 Pro. A very good one. First difference that I noticed right away is it seems to be built from slightly cheaper plastic. Not bad plastic, but you can feel the difference. In the drone, the controller and the battery charger. I purchased the Fly More Combo, and recommend that highly as the batteries are different from the DJI variant and are not interchangeable. Not sure why DJI or Skyrover believe they need this distinction, as it's not helpful to the consumer at all, but it is what it is. I get the app is different, but all hardware to me should be completely swapable. The consumer is not your enemy DJI or Skyrover. Please keep that in mind. The drone flew just as easily as it's brother, and was as quiet too. Spooky quiet from my experience with drones. The sensing of surrounding objects to avoid was good too. My first flight was in heavy clouds, and under some trees so getting satellites was slow, but that happens with DJI occasionally too. The speed and power of the drone matched it's brother perfectly. For a "non-FPS" style drone, it does fly quickly. I got up to around 35 MPH pretty easily in sport mode. Plenty fast enough for this style of drone. Camera abilities are quite equal except one area. The lens does not come off the Skyrover, so you can't get filters for this drone. At least not yet. I personally don't use filters often, so not a big deal for me. But replacing a lens due to an accident is a big deal. Not sure I like that minor loss of a feature. Now the one BIG negative for me. I fly my DJI non-FPV drones with an iPad, not a phone and the RC3 controller. The big screen is so much more satisfying while flying. The DJI Fly app works perfectly with an iPad or iPad Mini. Just get an adapter here on Amazon to make it fit on top of the controller and a longer USB cable and flying becomes that much more fun. I can fly without my glasses which is a BIG thing to me. Unfortunately, the Skyrover app does not resize itself to the larger screens like the DJI app does. So you only get a very small boxed window in the middle of the iPad screen. This is a major negative to me, and why I took away one star. I'd give it a full 5 stars if they fix this shortcoming in the app. Seems like a small thing, it's not to me. Overall, since DJI equipment is getting impossible to get, don't miss out on this "replacement". Other than a few small things (one big for me) it's an extremely good drone, and better than all others in this same class, except DJI of course. EDIT: OK, had to take away another star. On my 2nd flight I noticed something as the drone came in to land. One of the front landing "feet" was missing part of it. The cover here had fallen off, or was no there to begin with. I've only had 2 flights, and they were not anything special. Up, around the sky a bit and back down. There is a circuit board in this foot, and a small chip on it. I'm going to guess it might be one of the proximity sensors. So, there definitely needs to be a cover here. Interestingly, I also noticed the cover on the other side was slightly loose. I pushed on it and it clicked into place. That tells me this was a production issue. I'm going to try to reach out to Skyrover to get this fixed. I may follow up later... Final EDIT: Added star back. This is an awesome drone. I just got a bad unit, but Skyrover did reach out to me and offer to help. While it's still hard to contact them, hopefully they'll improve that, they do seem to care enough to reach out and help.
